Family owned and ran sushi restaurant with consistently high-quality, good tasting food! Best quality sushi on FM 1488 hands-down!!Vegetarian options: They have salad options and vegetarian roll options along with fried rice with and without meat so you have choices that arevegetarian in styleDietary restrictions: Sushi chef is a very accommodating in removing or alternating ingredients in his rollsParking: There are multiple businesses in this establishments area, but there’s never a problem to park always lots of space

Shaggy Dog roll was good, flavors were good. Tempura shrimp batter was a little mushy. Would like to return to try the Korean hot dishes...

The ramen we got was awful! worst ramen we've ever got. the noodles tasted like from the instant noodles we can buy from the stores. the meat and soup of the ramen definitely will tell you that that aint it!! not to mention that it came out with bellpeppers and chopped celery stalks... no. definitely not the ramen place if this is your first time getting a ramen.the shrimp tempura didn't even come with a sauce with it. not sure if the service crew was just new and still needed some training or what but it should always come with a sauce!Y'all can try maybe they've already changed the recipe or maybe that'll be something you'll like but we're definitely going back.

We have been coming to Umami for years and it feels like visiting family. Eddie and his wife and son are always so welcoming and wonderful. Their food is incredibly tasty and a fantastic value. All of the sushi is exceptional but the Tiger Eye Roll and Isaac #2 are stand out stars. Our kiddos highly recommend the fried rice and California Roll. Umami is consistently impressive and deserves to be a staple in the Magnolia community for many years to come.

I have been waiting for months to be in the area and able to find this restaurant open to give it a shot. Today I had my chance and went in.I stood at the door for about 5 minutes while waiting for someone to get off of their phone and get me to a table. I ordered water with lemon. I got water. I ordered spring rolls. They were made incorrectly and removed from the bill. I got the shrimp tempura and it was very good. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, the chicken was very dry and tough, the entire dish had way too much black pepper in it, overall it was inedible.Oh well, lesson learned. If it is lunch time and there are very few cards in the parking lot of a restaurant just give up and go somewhere else!Kid-friendliness: Nope

Meh... It was edible; that's the best thing I can say about it.

Ordered the Ramen. They used one of those .25 cent packs of ramen noodles and added vegetables and chicken. Not kidding.. Sushi was not sticky and fell apart. THE ABSOLUTE WORST.

Fresh, edible. Nice tempura. No complex flavors. Good seaweed salad, although the portion was a bit small. Not bad for a place in a small town.

I was extremely disappointed. I love giving places great reviews if they are even lose to deserving it. In fairness it was late and close to closing. My soup thought delicious was at most a quarter of the container. There was one piece of tofu and three bits of scallion. The teriyaki beef was mostly vegetables and the beef tasted mediocre at best. Now the egg rolls were good. The seaweed salad was horrible. Tasted like plastic. Looked like it too. I love spider rolls but theirs was not like anything I had ever had before. The sauce was weird tasting and the roll itself did not taste like anybody had ever had beforehand.Sushi is expensive and I had decided to splurge and was super excited to have some but ended up super disappointed. I understand that unfortunately delivered food is never going to be as good as that ordered in the restaurant. This however was so disappointing. I hated giving bad reviews. How I spent a lot of money for essentially a bit of good soup broth and egg rolls.

Very mediocre sushi. Low quality. Had a variety of rolls, sushi and nigiri and nothing was particularly good. Would not return.
