Came in for lunch on a Tuesday, and this place is exactly what it promises to be. It's a great little retro diner-style spot with made-to-order comfort food. It's been open almost 80 years now! I was able to get a seat immediately, but I would imagine this place gets busy for breakfast. I ate the quesadilla with fajita chicken, it was a really good portion size, especially for the price. Diane took care of me, she was so personable and sweet. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

One of the last American roadside diners/cafe. In a small town. Cafe 290 has been a staple in Manor Texas for 40+ years. The breakfast plates are huge! They have a daily lunch specials. I often enjoy a their chicken fried steak. Service can be a total hit or miss. Let's talk about the Pies!!! OMG they are to die for! The ambiance at lunch is always busy, on the weekends good luck getting in for breakfast. Overall good food decent prices.

Was a little disappointed with the fried pickels and onion rings, not homemade. Veggies were a little on the plain side, but the chicken was delicious.
