You ever eat something so good you woke up the next day tasting it and wanting more?
That's how I feel now!
Maxine's Gumbo House was just that good. I had a shrimp po boy and crawfish egg rolls.
I'm threatening to take that 1hr 16min drive back to Elgin. Bread was soft just like home(NOLA). The crawfish egg rolls was bomb..I just keep saying hmm with every bit😋

The staff is excellent! All the food on the menu comes from family recipes and made with nothing but the best ingredients. Eddie and Karen; the owners, are absolutely AMAZING they have done absolutely amazing at creating a welcoming, enjoyable, dependable, trustworthy, straight forward, relaxed, laid back, and very versatile from party atmosphere to personal and intimate setting for their customers!!
