Always love it here. Food… insane
Phenomenal, food and wine selection. Not bad gluten free selection. Had roasted potatoes - perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fantastic wine selection, interesting local stuff. Their main thing is a huge selection of tinned fish - and unfortunately bread! - but the tinned cod liver paired perfectly with the potatoes and local orange wine. Excellent meal, experience, clientele to chat with. 10/10

Located in Marfa, Alta Marfa Restaurant & Wine Bar offers a unique dining experience with incredible wine and creative food. The wine is incredible, and guests often stop for wine every time they are in Marfa, with some joining the wine club. The food is similarly blown away by flavor and creativity. Diners enjoy tapas-style meals like a tomato and melon salad with a lime/fish sauce dressing and fried garlic, nourishing beet salad, exquisite cabbage, chicken schnitzel, tinned mackerel with all the fixin's, porcini pasta, and a shared bottle of Texas tempranillo. The chocolate mousse with a touch of olive oil and salt is to die for, and the goose-mousse will be talked about for years. The atmosphere is wonderful, with velvet lights and a menu that changes before you finish chewing. The service is friendly and accommodating, even when busy. Guests can put their names on a list and walk around if the wait is too long. Morning coffee is bitter and straight-like Marfa itself, but afternoon it's gone. The ground beef ragu is steaming but not loud, with sauce thick enough to sin with. Merlot tastes of dust and forgiveness. Five stars. Highly recommend.
