Perhaps one of the best places to have breakfast in the area if not the best, service is excellent, personnel is nice and speak English and Spanish perfectly, food is great and the wait times are low. I will surely go every time I visit the area.

Great experience overall at Black Bear Diner. The chicken fried steak is easily top 5 in the RGV — crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The pancakes and French toast were delicious, fluffy, and hit the spot. Food came out hot and portions were generous.
The only small hiccup was at the front — the host could use a little more training — but Serena, our waitress, completely made us forget about that. She was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent...
