This was my third visit to this Black Bear diner. My first 2 were for dinner and the food was excellent, this visit was breakfast. I ordered the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and apple juice. First the rehydrated apple juice was weak and had a distictive chlorine taste. I traded for a cup of coffee. My burrito had the scrambled eggs in a big lump on one side of the burrito. There wasn't a sign of the advertised cheddar cheese, diced red onion, cilantro or homemade salsa....

Group if 6 waited 2 hours to get seated. 3 ordered pot roast they were out, 1 ordered 3 tip steak they were out. 2 breakfast said they were good, turkey dinner was good. Chicken fried steak was very dry. Rubin was so dry could hardly choke it down, fries were cold. Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap was mostly shredded lettuce and dressing, a few bites of chicken that was mostly breading, no bacon in it. Will we return or tell anyone to go to Black Bear Diner in McAllen, TX. ABSOLUTELY...

Black Bear Diner in McAllen, Texas, is a must stop for the best breakfast you will wrap your lips around. Now folks they serve a biscut that is huge, i would say this biscut is 4 inches in diameter and then you add the creamy sausage gravy to this biscut and you got a meal in itself , but wait your main course is a cheese ham omelet with pancakes and you have a full course meal that will satisfy any hunger pain you have . the only negative I have is that the coffee shouldn't...
