I tried to like this place and as someone who knows how to cook unfortunately this place isn’t to my standards. I had at first the crawfish but it was EXTREMELY mushy and smelled bad I called the restaurant and they confirmed the cook overcooked them and offered me a $20 Credit to use in the future. Which I appreciate since the crawfish was genuinely not edible I threw it away but doesn’t explain why it smelled bad if it was just overcooked? Well I gave it another chance came...read full review
service was good, food quality and description is lacking. red beans and rice had about 1 ounce of rice, in a separate condiment cup. what a joke. overall, I've been to the location on the island a d in mcallen, neither location lived up to the hype. I wont be going back.
I complained to the waitervthat some of our oysters tasted awful and he did not care. We left without ordering dinner. Very disappointed.

Dirty Al's Bayou Grill offers tasty food, with standouts including well-cooked fish, crayfish tails, and fried fish. The service is great and the waitstaff is very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is enhanced by pleasant music and decor. The food is phenomenal and the seasonings are so flavorful you will not be disappointed. The Mosette plate is very delicious. The appetizers are really good, including the Dirty Sampler with shrimp stuffed jalapeño, fried mushrooms, and popcorn shrimp. The Red Snapper Rockefeller is the best thing, with a three cheese sauce that is something out of this world. The Almondy entree and Kings Stuffed Flounder are also delicious. The fried potatoes are nice and crispy and the corn is perfectly seasoned. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, making it a place worth visiting again.
