The menu is diverse, including central American cuisine aside from Mexican such as Salvadorian pupusas. One observation and criticism would be that the dishes that incorporate corn chips like the chilaquiles had an excessive amount of chips in relation to the protein (pollo and chicharones). I couldn't finish my plate because it had literally around 10 tortillas (40 chips) in the bowl (and they get soggy with the salsa).
The chicharones were great but limited, chicken was good but also scarce. At one point I felt I was eating a bowl of soggy chips.

The papusas were good. But burnt at bottom was hard to cut through with a KNIFE i was scraping the metal pan. Was worried I was getting metal shaving in mh food just picked them up and ate them with my hands. If I cut them with the paper them come placed on I would've had paper all in my food.

It was my first time visiting El Itacate Restaurant. I was craving a Mexican breakfast, and my wife had heard good things about the place. I ordered the Reketes plate, and while some parts were good, the chicharrón was disappointing—it was very hard and chewy, which really took away from the dish overall. My wife had the breakfast plate, and her bacon had the same issue: very hard and chewy. On a positive note, we also ordered the pupusas, and those were good. Overall, the experience was decent, staff was nice and ambient was cool. I’d be willing to go back and try other dishes to see if the quality of the meats is better next time.

Service was great and the staff handled things well, but the tacos plancha came out looking a little shy on the meat. For the price, I definitely expect fuller tacos. We mentioned it to our server and they did fix it, which we appreciated. Just wish it hadn’t been an issue in the first place. Solid spot overall, but portions should match the price tag.

We put an order for pick up, accidentally ordered from wrong store, after a misunderstanding the manager was able to fix problem and were able to enjoy delicious food..I definitely recommend their unique flavor of their menu… a nice place to enjoy with family……

The food was really good and fresh. The person at the front was super nice and made me feel welcome. A few workers were really friendly and checked on us. The place felt chill and comfortable. I'll go back for sure.
