I had been interested in trying this place after seeing it on social media. Stopped in for lunch and a beer. Service was good and friendly, food came out fast and hot, but was extremely bland. Beef fajitas tasted like precooked ones you get in a bag from the grocery store, brisket for brisket tacos was like it came out of a crockpot. Got most of the way through my beer and noticed a bunch of stuff floating in the bottom of my glass. I would say skip this place.

El Mejor Mexican Kitchen in McKinney delivers an authentic dining experience worthy of its name. The atmosphere buzzes with a lively spirit, matched by five-star service that makes every guest feel like family. Sipping on their house margaritas, which hit the perfect note of zest, I reveled in the gluten-free offerings—especially the Carne Asada tacos wrapped in soft corn tortillas, rich in flavor and crafted with care. Overall, El Mejor gets a glowing 5-star rating, with its culinary prowess shining through every gluten-free bite. A must-visit for anyone seeking genuine Mexican cuisine served with a generous helping of hospitality.Dietary restrictions: Gluten freeGFGluten

Came in here for brunch. I had the carne asada with eggs with a side of beans as well as a flat white. I enjoyed the flat white, probably my favorite thing about the experience. The food was good although perhaps a bit bland, which for the price is a little disappointing. I will say the salsa that comes with the chips is rather flavorful. The service was great, everyone was nice and attentive.I would like to come back here and try something else on the menu as well as something from their drink menu!

One of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. Good drinks and a nice atmosphere. Our service was decent but overall we had a great time. Highly recommend tamales and we also had the jalapeño margarita and fish tacos.

We came in for late night snacks, El Mejor’s tacos did not disappoint. We sat in the bar and the bartender was very attentive and was quite busy but handled it like a professional! When we are back in town we will be back.
