“This is the only place in midkiff to get a meal. The gas station serves food but it's very limited in selection. If you're going here I suggest the asado. Being that I am a Yankee I am told I don't know Mexican food. doesn't change the fact that in my opinion this is the best place to get asado in West Texas.“
“I ordered the small guac (only $3.50) and it was fresh and delicious. I ordered the chili relleno and declined tortillas. But when my meal came out the cook brought out a tortilla and proudly told me they were hand made -- and it was so tasty! (I'll restart the diet tomorrow) The relleno was huge and VERY good with a deliciously spicy pablano and a rich tomato-based sauce on top.“

“Burrito Rey
Burrito Rey delivers an excellent burrito experience with high-quality ingredients and fast service. The burritos were flavorful and well-prepared, showcasing their commitment to quality. The tortillas stood out with their buttery taste, thick texture, and perfect cooking—clearly a notch above the average.
The restaurant itself was spotless and well-organized, creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. I also appreciated the variety of drinks and snacks available, which adds a nice touch for those looking for more options.
The only reason I didn't give a full five stars is due to a minor oversight: my to-go bag didn’t include any salsa or napkins. Perhaps these need to be requested, but for the price point, I would have expected them to be included by default. A custom-made salsa would have elevated the experience even further, adding that extra layer of flavor.
That said, I’ll definitely be stopping by again to grab a couple of burritos for the road. If you go, I highly recommend the potato, egg, bean, and cheese burrito—it was delicious and satisfying. With just a few tweaks, Burrito Rey could easily become a five-star spot for me.
4/5 stars!“
