The service was great and the food came out promptly. Although clearly nothing was fresh. The chicken was chewy and the mashed potatoes had turned to something other than mashed potatoes. The restaurant was clean and the wooden benches were better than the ones from the old country. Fewer splinters and nails. The staff seemed pleasant and friendly. Although the valet parking took forever.
Way to expensive for chicken strips

Well, I must say, everything was just lovely when I walked in. The store was clean and neat. I was greeted kindly, and I thought to myself, now this is how businesses used to be run!
But my goodness, I was not expecting what I saw next. Two young ladies—employees, mind you—were standing behind the register carrying on like they were in the privacy of their own home! Kissing, hugging, and just completely forgetting they were at work. I didn’t know where to look! It made me terribly uncomfortable.
I’m all for young people being in love, but there is a time and place, and it certainly isn’t at the checkout counter in front of customers. I do hope management addresses this, because aside from that, it really was a wonderful visit.
We placed our order and were asked to pull up and wait, which we did. After waiting for quite a while with no update, we went inside—only to find out they had forgotten our order completely. To make it worse, we were told we’d have to wait again because they still needed to cook it. No apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake. Really disappointing experience.
Great Chicken and Fish

Gave up on ordering catfish here for several years then when it went under new management this past August tried the fish again just to see and it was great! But since November till now I guess it is just too hard to put even a little salt in their corn meal. Had high hopes but…. giving up again.

Ever since the new management came in the chicken has been just barely finished cooking, rather than a nice crispy golden brown it is a soggy yellow flop. Also they changed how much sugar is in the sweet tea and now it tastes like any other sweet tea in this city.

The Health Department needs to do a drop-in visit and the manager on duty that Saturday 10/19 2024 needs to go back to Food Handling and Manager Responsible Course RUN RUN RUN!!! DONT EAT AT THIS LOCATION MY HUSBAND AND I WERE HAVING A AFTERNOON LUNCH DATE around 1:30pm we went in to order our food The total was over $25.00 for the both of us got our order drove home started eating the chicken it was SO OLD WE COULDN'T EAT IT I calledbthe number to the location off Google the store didn't answer so I called another location the called and called me back to say don't understand why they were not answering then told me to take the food back to that location WE DID JUST THAT DROVE one of the employees was outside pushing the trash he dumped the trash and by the time he came inside we were at the counter talking to the manager about our food she said No problem Hail Started the man from the outside come in the backdoor he pushing the trashcan she calls out to him drop some poppers he said ok walked over to the freezer gets the bag puts his hand inside the bag and drops the poppers in the oil AT THIS POINT I ASKED THE SAME MANAGER TO PLEASE I NEED TO TALK TO YOU SHE CAME OVER I INFORMED her he was outside with the trash and HE DIDN'T WASH HIS HANDS SHE THEN SAID SHE WOULD MAKE OUR FOOD WELL LADY HE WAS THE SAME COOK THE FIRST TIME WE CAME AND YOUR GOING TO COOK POPPERS OUT THE SAME BAG HE WAS JUST IN AND the manager went to the cook he started laughing, the shift manager, and she began laughing looking at us
She came back and asked well what do you want me to do
I told her we would come back another day to eat she took my name and said she would post it in the manager's office
No refund was offered to us. We left

I'm a customer from this morning we brought some food this morning and the food was old and we called the manager and she said bring it back up to them and they also left the pies that we ordered off.. I talked to the manager about one of the employees that took out the trash and didn’t wash his hands after and when the manager went back to talk to him about it he just shrugged his shoulders and they were laughing in the back about it.. we live in Mansfield so you know it was a drive to get there just for them to play in our face I’m so disgusted by the whole situation..

Not our first time visiting but this time, service was terrible. Waited about 30 minutes for our family order. After reminding them that I was still waiting, they put the order together and didn't even apologize for the delay. Only because it was already late, but I should've canceled my order!

Chicken Express doesn't quite live up to their name. Waited over twenty minutes for my order. Customer service needs improvement (difficulty ordering, girl initially gave me the order of the customer behind me, order was wrong).

We love chicken express and while we were in town to visit (only a week) we ate it every day. The staff were always great.
