⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
We had an amazing experience tonight! The steaks were a 10/10 — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and absolutely worth the visit.
But the real star was Emma. She has a true servant’s heart and is absolutely an asset to this restaurant. You can tell she genuinely cares. As someone who’s been a waitress myself, I notice the little things — her timing was spot-on, she was quick, friendly, attentive, and she has such a fun,...read full review
Hands down, the best owned and operated restaurant in East Texas - amazing food, drinks and the kindest staff you could ever envision along with a great casual but sophisticated ambiance. Can’t say enough great things about this establishment and its owners.

The Texas Chophouse is a very cool spot in Mt. Vernon, offering a great dinner in a historical and upscale setting with a stepping back in time vibe. The atmosphere is great at night, featuring original floors, ceiling tiles, and an operable elevator. It is a very aesthetic spot with a great patio. The owners are very personable, professional, and welcoming, often visiting tables, and the staff is extremely nice, respectful, and attentive, providing excellent service.
The menu features seafood and meat, with some great looking options. The bone-in ribeye is cooked exactly as hoped, and the Quail appetizer is very good. The shrimp cocktail is very enjoyable, and the sides are great. The Crème Brûlée dessert is great, and there is a better wine list than at most other restaurants. One reviewer did not recommend the Tempura Asparagus, feeling it needed something more. The restaurant is reasonably priced and is a great place to eat, whether bringing a date, friends, or family. It also has an event location next door. Many guests, including families with children, plan to return, calling it an East Texas diamond in the rough.
