They use pecan wood to make their jerky and sausage products which gives a sharper smoke taste. Be sure to try the hot beef sticks! Definitely worth stopping by if you're traveling down 36.

Small town mom and pop restaurants are my favorite, and this one does not disappoint. Very small place, so i took it to go, but the cooking smells great. The staff was friendly, didn't take long, and the BBQ was delicious, juicy.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I am a huge believer of supporting local businesses but this is by far the absolute worst BBQ and service I have received. We went inside and placed our two plates but please tell me how 5 other people came after us and placed their orders and were immediately helped and back on there way. We kept waiting and looking at each other like there is no way this is happening…. Yep. It happened. So finally we go out to our vehicle to eat because there is no seating inside and open our plates to what had to be the worst smell ever… Against our better judgment we were starving at this point and tried to eat but the only thing good was the pickles and the soda purchased out of there fridge. Not sure how this bbq place is open but I pray for whoever eats here… GOD BLESS AND DO BETTER FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS AND FOOD IN GENERAL.

Where to begin...READ THIS REVIEW.... If you are not a regular or someone that they know by name they basically don't wait on you. 5 customers came in received service, and their food, left before we even received our food. The bbq was mediocre at best. It was over cooked and dry. The sauce came out of jug. The jerky was salty and smelled weird. Oh and about 2hrs after we ate we were sick to our stomach. We are 1 and done. This place is a nasty joke
Service was great Jerky is off the chart BBQ is down right fabulous, I recommend everyone to stop in and see for your self, small town Needville small little shop, you know what people say small little hole in the wall places produce the very best, so next time your in the area, stop in and give it a shot. Something has changed I’ve been going there for years absolutely love it still do even after I went yesterday but the recipe had changed and my sausage was crumbly never had that experience before I am please get some beef stick ends. I travel an hour and a half for them I get there and there was none.

I urge everyone to steer clear of Ohl Style Beef Jerky! My experience was an absolute nightmare. I purchased their beef jerky and ended up with food poisoning. The odor was revolting, reminiscent of a foul and unsanitary environment. Even my grandmother, who bought it for me, was appalled by the putrid stench resembling that of a decaying carcass.To make matters worse, on a subsequent visit, the place was infested with flies and cockroaches. It's evident that the owner is attempting to offload this company to avoid impending legal action. This establishment is a hazard, and I implore you to avoid it at all costs.
