Mi Piaci Italian Restaurant

Mi Piaci NON mi piace. Which basically means in Italian, I don't like it. I am Italian and a chef and former restaurant owner. The servers were all very friendly and lovely and sweet and kind. Although it took a little longer than it should hace to come.back to check on the table.
The atmosphere was okay the Decor was nice. But the food, at least what I got, was not okay. And I saw other plates of pasta going by that would have fed a family of four. First of all the prices are fairly steep even at lunch. I had the eggplant parmesan which was more than $20. I received a sale big enough for three people. The eggplant was barely to be found under WAY too much cheese, and a HUGE portion of spaghetti was on top of everything literally drowning it. This meant that the eggplant was soaked in sauce and cheese and literally SLIMY. The pasta was enough for FOUR people!! This is ridiculous! In Italy portions are small which is probably why Italians are not as overweight as Americans even though they eat a lot of carbs. Pasta is a first plate and it's small followed by the second plate which is the protein or whatever the main would be called. The sauce was okay but definitely not up to par and, in my opinion, too many spices in it again. Marinara is simple and straightforward. But here it was thick and almost tasted like it was out of a jar. This is typical Italian-American type of food and Americans have no idea that it is not Italian and should they ever go to Italy they will be disappointed not to find this stuff or whatever you want to call it in Italy. It's a shame but I should have gone to Olive Garden I probably would have fared better and that isn't saying much. I'm sorry but I would not go back. Sadly, there are people who will believe this is Italian food Che peccato...?

I was very disappointed with my order…. The pizza was very soggy, under cooked & the vegetables looked like they threw them on. I called to complain and the girl who answered did not offer any reimbursements or any options to make it better… I would have been ok with an I’m sorry, but not even that.
So disappointed…. Will never order from there again.

Absolute despicable and disgusting to have been treated so disrespectfully in a restaurant establishment.. In all my years of working, managing, and enjoying restaurants all over the world, i never thought I'd see the day where servers and managers would do such an outrageous act.. We were having an amazing time on our Thursday night- food was amazing- however during our conversation- me and my wife were talking about something in private about other people- not even us, and a little girl server that was not taking care of us, decided to say we were being inappropriate.. I was actually very shocked, so I said excuse me let me speak to your manager, this is not ok.. I then proceeded to manager, and explained to the manager that I didn't appreciate being confronted in such a rude way from someone that wasn't even a part of my table or serving me- and the manager then started arguing with my wife .. At this point, I'm in total disbelief because me and my wife are known and respected in establishments like this in the odessa/ midland area
. So at this point I am like really seeing i will have to contact ownership and leave a review- i walk out the door and 4 servers as well as that same manager walk outside flipping us off, which i have pictures of by the way- and will be forwarding to the proper resources.. It's a shame and I do like this place, but after this disrespectful tirade I definitely will not be back, and neither will my family and wife ... This was the worst i have ever seen and I am still in shock ..An establishment should never have that kind of immaturity and should be managed properly...

First time there. Food was amazing fresh ingredients. Excellent service. It was so much food I took alot home for lunch the next day. Definitely recommend this place. I will be back.

Great Italian atmosphere in the heart of Odessa, came with the family looking for a family own place. Didn’t disappoint, service and atmosphere were very good. Serving sizes are HUGE!! Better come hungry or be sure you will take food home. The flavor of the food needs a bit more kick, felt that could use more flavor but overall a good experience for a family dinner. The bread was fantastic

The place is very nice, dim lights, clean and fast service…
The food is very delicious and they serve you a very full plate! The cost is expensive but for how much they serve and the service, I think it's worth it!
The girl who served us seemed to be new but she served us excellently, every dish I asked about what it was like or from photos on the internet although she didn't know what dish it was, she was kind enough to go and ask her colleagues what dish it was... 5⭐️ for her!
It's an Italian restaurant, I think. And it looks elegant, like for a date ? or very familiar too!

Parking: Large space since it is a shopping plaza with more stores, so it is shared but sufficient.

This is some of the most amazing Italian authentic food you can eat anywhere!! Thee food comes out fast and hot the atmosphere puts you in another dimension I really can’t express how amazing this hidden diamond is!!! Yall need to take the time and enjoy it

I know many will disagree, but I visited this place for the first time and found the prices to be too high. Yes, they say it's homemade, but personally, my food lacked flavor. I've definitely had better pasta in places that aren't homemade or Italian, as this place claims. The service was very poor; the waitstaff never came to our table to check on us or ask if we wanted refills on our drinks. Our table was filled with used plates because no one came to clear them away. I think $17 for a kids' meal is excessive, especially since that amount could get you a giant plate full of spaghetti with sauce. Plus the pasta Alfredo had only 5 shrimps, of course I counted it because it was $25.
