Such a wonderful restaurant. The food is always incredible and fresh. Chef Thomas came around and introduced himself to the tables as well.
We'd been looking forward to this experience since we made the reservations two months ago. It even exceeded expectations!
We were welcomed and greeted nicely but we sat for at least 15 minutes before anyone came to start the service. Our waiter was friendly and professional but was overwhelmed by the number of tables he had. There is a lot of staff but they don't seem to coordinate and work as a team.
Did the Valentines set menu with wine pairing. Can't wait to go back. It was an amazing food experience. Very intimate and Chef Thomas came out to meet.
We went here for Valentines Day. The staff and owner were amazing. It may have just been the night, but the food was good (not amazing). We will be back to try again during a normal menu.
Food was amazing for a romantic night on valentines. The Truffle Bucatini with the wine pairing was my favorite dish of the night. Totally recommend 10/10. Will most definitely be back. Shout out to the Chef
One of my favorite meals, ever. Ceviche, carne asada, redfish, yams, and Brussels sprouts all remarkable. Booking a return visit reservation now!
First time here and it was fantastic! It was crowd but you would never know, food and service were spot on. Highly recommend the hidden gem. We will return to try more dishes.
Love this place—but this time was a miss. We went for their pre-fixed menu and it just wasn't worth the price. Portions were smaller than usual, and the wine pairing wasn't just low value—I looked up the wines and they were cheap bottles. We ended up grabbing more food on the way home. This place is great when you order off the regular menu, but the pre-fixed option really fell short and didn't live up to its otherwise strong reputation.
Everything was delicious and service was great! Great flavors for the items tried: octopus, fingerling potatoes and redfish.

Another amazing meal and experience. Belly of the Beast is one of Houston's top restaurants, period.
Absolutely delicious from start to finish. The food was exceptional, and the portions were remarkably generous—especially impressive for a restaurant that has earned James Beard award and Michelin accolades. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service: attentive, warm, and genuinely fabulous without ever feeling overbearing. A standout dining experience all around and well worth a return visit.
We felt rushed during our experience. The food is substandard. Prices are quite high. I was highly disappointed. Will never return.
Maybe the oddest location for a highly ranked restaurant. Mid-block. I anchored strip center with eclectic tenant mix like a tatoo parlor. Parking is scarce. Ambiance norhing special they took abbasicvspace and kept it wide open with a small bar. Service was suspect in a Thursday night not refilling iced teas and water had to ask more than once. The Bivette(Carne Asada) was terrific: great taste and super tender. Small portion the tortillas were really good; the sides were very non descriptive. Excellent tres leches. Overall expectations way higher than experience. Would return for sure just not as great as advertised.
The atmosphere, service, and food were outstanding. The two of us had a breaded-cheese mushroom truffle appetizer, their beef tacos and grilled redfish with tres leaches desert. All was beyond outstanding.
