I grew up in Pasadena and now live 2 hours north, in Somerville.We have family and friends living in Pasadena and was told about your bakery.I only wished it were there when we lived there. Best baked goods and today I purchased pork tamales. They were filled just right and the ratio between meat and masa were perfect. I ordered spicy and they were so good, I wished I had purchased more.We will be back.

My husband made a separate purchase first so he could gift cookies to the homeless out in front of the store. The second transaction of ours was on the round tray on the counter already in front of them. The cashiers did not want to ring up my tray order and even took a customer behind me to another register to avoid giving me service. When I started speaking to the cashier, she just rolled her eyes, shook her head, and started speaking in Spanish to another cashier and a woman customer. Apparently, a line was forming after I had been standing there for a few minutes, and the cashier implied that I should go to the back of the line. I literally was at the counter in front of the cashiers before the other customers, and yet they did not want to check me out. My family are regulars at this bakery and have never been treated so rudely. Is it a race thing? All Hispanics before white people? Or the assumption that I don't speak Spanish so I wouldn't understand what was being said? My family will be finding another bakery.

El Bolillo is super delicious. Cool . The only BAD thing is that they don't have much variety of bread on Doordash. if not consume more often. That's why I just take away a little star. The tortillas are super delicious.They need better service too

Ami, I love bread and now I have seen comments from people here who complain that the cashiers are bitter, I understand that we all deserve good service as well as the employee giving their best, but there are also customers who arrive with a bad attitude, as well as the employee. You also deserve respect and to be treated the same way sometimes the employees are nice and the customers are rude so don't go with your bad attitude why all those employees are also human beings and have families and fight to earn their money to take away eat your family and still get up and come to work and put up with complaints, of course it doesn't affect me but people are always going to talk and are never going to be happy so employees enjoy their work and customers enjoy their delicious bread.love bread and now I have seen comments from people here who complain that the cashiers are bitter, I understand that we all deserve good service as well as the employee giving their best, but there are also customers who arrive with a bad attitude and the employee as well. Cashiers could provide better customer service if they served with kindness and warmth. In their tone of voice and body language it is clear that they do not do their job with pleasure. Greeting to make the customer feel welcome and saying goodbye wishing them a good day is essential when working directly in customer service. Perhaps better training for your staff would help them do a better job.

We usually go to the Wayside location but since we were in the neighborhood... I know they are the same but I swear the wayside location just tastes better. To be fair I might be a little bias because it's what I'm used to. The bolillos are worth the drive from Galveston. I eat one with cheese before we leave the parking lot!

Went by this location today for the 1st time to pick up a small tres leches cake. The bakery is much bigger than the location on Airline Dr. and very clean and welcoming. Unfortunately the cake was very VERY dry for it to be a tres leches. I literally had to add whole milk to it at home to make it moist. For the cake that I received I give 2 ? but other than that The sweet bread is very tasty. The capirotada is very good as well. The staff is kind and welcoming and everything in the glass case looks fresh. Even though the cake was not at all what I expected I will still be going back to try other items and I do recommend this bakery.
