My Fiancé and I stopped off at Smokey Buns over the weekend as I have been wanting to try. They definitely did not disappoint. Great atmosphere and very friendly. Definitely going back again!

Our early lunch was so delicious - I got the two meat plate with brisket and boudin sausage and a side of pork belly fried rice. My husband got the brisket sandwich and Mac salad. Everything we had was fantastic and flavorful but my favorite was the brisket and pork belly fried rice!
My wife and I stopped by Smokey Buns and were absolutely blown away. We ordered a platter with four meats and two sides, and every bite was incredible.
The brisket was a standout—perfectly smoked and seasoned with just salt and pepper, as owner Jesse proudly shared. It’s a classic done right, and easily one of the best we’ve had.
The pork belly was rich and flavorful, and the ribs (my wife’s favorite) were gone in minutes—they didn’t stand a chance! I didn’t get to try the chicken (I was too full), but my wife said it tasted like a rodeo turkey leg—smoky, juicy, and delicious.
We were hoping to try the Poblano Oaxaca cheese sausage, but it was sold out. Luckily, the house sausage we did get was fantastic. If that was the backup, I can only imagine how good the signature sausage must be.
Jesse described his BBQ as “Familiar but Different,” and I couldn’t agree more. It’s traditional Texas oak-smoked BBQ with a creative twist that makes it unforgettable.
Highly recommend Smokey Buns to anyone who loves bold, authentic BBQ. We’ll definitely be back!

This is probably one of the best BBQ spots in Round Rock. The brisket is great. The pork belly is amazing. The ribs are fantastic. Now the introduction of the turkey(fantastic) was really great add-on to an already solid menu. Wife loves the potato salad and I love the pork belly fried rice.

Best BBQ I've had in Round Rock! Brisket was moist and flavorful, ribs were tender, but the star of the show was the poblano-oaxaca sausage. The flavor of sides were pretty average, but still tasty. I enjoyed the pork belly fried rice and potato salad was creamy and well-seasoned. There is a pavilion over picnic tables so you're not directly under the sun. Will definitely be back!
Small food truck but big bbq flavor and excellent service. The poblano and Oaxaca cheese sausage was so good and the homemade strawberry fresa crema pop was the perfect way to finish off the meal. Will definitely need to come back.

Not a single thing missed its mark. We had the brisket, sausage, ribs, pork belly and turkey and all were a hit. The pork belly fried rice and kewpie Mac salad were absolutely fire. And although I don't do TX potato salad he gave me a sample and now I am a fan of this specific TX potato salad. All around this is definitely Top Tier Texas BBQ. Good Job!!!!!!

Had the opportunity to try this hidden gem and was blown away by the quality, service, and presentation. Their slice pork belly has become a fav and their pork fried rice is to die for. This is the only BBQ place I know of that has avocado crema sauce which was phenomenal. Definitely coming back!
