Spirit of Texas Brewstillery is a hidden gem, known for its impressive selection of in-house beers, rums, and whiskey. The venue is described as bigger on the inside, like the Tardis, and offers a fun and lively atmosphere. It is a small independent distillery that also serves as a music venue, located just a block off the northbound feeder of the 130 toll road. Inside, the bar area is small with three tables off to the side, and there is a back room for tastings or private events. The space features a small but lively environment, with sporadic tours of the distillery, which is highly recommended. Guests can enjoy a beer flight of four choices, mixed drinks, and shots. Their rum is the best seller, praised for its caramel smoothness and slight nutty character from pecans. They also make frozen rum-a-ritas sometimes. The distillery distills its own liquor and brews its own beer, although they do not produce vodka or tequila. Visitors have noted that the beers have interesting flavors, with some tasting so good that they had three different ones. The staff is friendly and hospitable, always happy to explain their products. Whiskey, especially their pecan rum, is highly recommended for its good ol’ oak and pecan taste. The venue also features a small merchandise area and a listing of upcoming shows on the wall. Parking is limited, so street parking is necessary. The bar offers a tip screen for credit cards. Guests appreciate the friendly bartenders and the lively atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy live music, watch a game, or simply chill after a long day. Food options are available from a food truck, serving great BBQ, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.
