Not gonna lie, I was little skeptical about this place, being this close to Austin. I decided to see how bad it was by choosing the buffet, like my coworkers. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the fish and I’ve been eating it regularly all my life. It had great flavor, texture and just the right amount of crunch. I wasn’t too crazy about the grilled or fried chicken, it was a little dry. I was just there for the fish.

FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!! The catfish was perfectly fried and seasoned to perfection!!! The staff was very welcoming and kind. Felt like we where family before we left. This restaurant is a MUST try! Southern cooking at it's best. Will most certainly be back when in the area again.

Springhill Restaurant is a great place for good food. It's not fancy, but it's certainly tasty. Probs are generous and prices are very reasonable. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is homey. During lunch you can take advantage of a nice spread at the buffet where you can enjoy their mouth watering fried catfish, the star here in my humble opinion. The breading is just right, not overwhelming the delicious, well seasoned treat beneath. Other seafood offerings are oysters and shrimp, all equally enjoyable. There's also chicken, chicken fried steak, steak fingers and burgers. On the side you can enjoy cheese sticks, cole slaw, sweet corn, french fries, fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried okra, gumbo, hush puppies, onion rings, pinto beans and even fried pickles! If you have any room left, great desserts are available, including cobblers and pie. This is a great place to enjoy comfort food in a comfortable environment. My family and I heartily recommend Springhill!Parking: Parking can be a little tight during the popular lunch buffet, but we've always been able to find a space.Kid-friendliness: This is a place where everyone is welcomed and made to feel comfortable. Kids will enjoy the food in a family meal setting.
Classic Texas Catfish in an equally classic looking building with great friendly staff. They have an all you can eat buffet at lunch time, but I opted for the three piece catfish basket and it was more than enough for me! The fish was well seasoned and the filets were huge! Fries and hushpuppies were super solid and tasty as well. I'll be back for sure!

I went here with my family for a get together, one that was well overdue, and the staff here at Springhill created a party and gave us an entire room for everything. They were so accommodating and polite, and the service was amazing. The cat fish was too 3 I have ever had in my life, I had no choice but to leave a good review ! This was my second time here. I will admit my first time. I was not impressed. I had stopped for lunch and decided on a bowl of gumbo and when it was delivered to the table it was not hot. But I had a group that I belonged to that. A few of them really raved about it and decided to try it again. This time I got the catfish and shrimp combo and I got the small one which was enough for all of my dinner and probably lunch and dinner tomorrow. Just a heads up for those going there for the first time, many dishes are served on a styrofoam plate. But it doesn't take away from the quality of the food.
