“Not from plainview, I took a wild guess for a place to eat and I'm glad we did!! My hubby loved the grits, my sister loved the eggs, and I loved the atmosphere!!! Old time jukeboxes, and our waitress was super sweet. We got our food the way we asked ""real food"" gravy was homemade, grits perfect, and watching ol timers laugh and joke!!! I sooooo loved it!!!“

Jazlyn's Sweet Shop Cafe •
918 Broadway, Plainview

“Ok it's a jewel tucked away in the middle of Plainview Texas. People have lived in and around Plainview Texas all their life and have never seen or been here. Which is weird because once you find it you wanna kick yourself for missing it. Don't believe me...trust me. It took me years to find it even when I grew up around the area. Even my friends that lived in Plainview never heard of it....and then...someone tells you. So be happy I'm telling you. I know I might be strung up by some people...they don't want everyone to know about it. It gets busy. So what do they serve? Oh you know the normal cafe stuff but trust me....the one you wanna try is called the "smokey Jack" best sandwich in the world. Even if you don't like something in the sandwich...just eat it. I promise I won't let you down. Second best thing do drink...their Mocha. Yep this one is the best...better then starbucks. *LOL* And they generally create cute designs. My next favorite is Vanilla ice cream soda...YUMMMMY! However, not everyone likes Italian Sodas. My hubby not a fan. I am though, taste like melted icecream. The place is a little hard to get use to...but trust me just go with the flow. You go to the front..then menus are generally tucked at the front counter up in a bowl to your left. The staff is one of the sweetest...and busiest staff I know. Especially during lunch. Now you have to get their before 2pm...otherwise No "Smokey jack" or other sandwiches. Food is not served after 2pm. But you can go by and get drinks after 2. Place is old...yep older style which makes it soo very cool. Bathroom, very small and if you can skip this you might want to. Nothing wrong with it...just an old building, small bathroom and everybody uses it. Most of the college kids, Local officers and business people are here Monday - Fridays during lunch. So if you can can around 10 or 11 that would be better. Seating can be in the first room, second room, or outside. If I get some pictures later I will let you know. Just FYI this place is worth it for a nice and different lunch. My hubby and I drive over a 100 miles just to get a chance to eat at this place now and then. Worth the drive, worth the wait. OH...and did you know part of Leap of Faith movie was filmed here back in the day.“
