Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant

I recently visited Anjappar in Dallas and was very disappointed with my experience this Sunday dinner with family . The Tandoori Chicken was excessively salty to the point that it was difficult to eat. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, I expected at least a simple apology or some acknowledgment of the issue. Unfortunately, there was no apology and the concern was not handled professionally.

As someone familiar with the Anjappar brand from Tamil Nadu, I had much higher expectations regarding both food quality and customer service. It’s disappointing to see such a well-known brand fall short in these basic areas. I hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving both food consistency and service standard for the pricey food

I am not someone who randomly write reviews but this one I am very particular with my recent bitter experience. We are someone who eats out every weekend. Big disappointment service wise and staff wise.we made a to go order with 4 different items. After coming back from an exhausting trip we opened order.Firstly the appams were very bad just like set dosa. Another item we ordered was a veggie veechu parotta, the parotta was not stuffed with veggies instead they gave a random parotta which was like a basic chapatti but the size was lil big and it came with mirchi ka salan and raita instead of the kurma. The salan has already gone bad and tasted very bad. Addition to our disappointment they also made a surcharge (mentioned as credit card charge)along with the regular taxes. I would never recommend this restaurant to any one. Will never encourage such deceiving manager and the staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Nandu rasam, Tanjore fish fry, Mutton Chettinad, and Shrimp Chettinad. The service provided by the wait staff was exemplary, characterized by their politeness, courtesy, and humility.

I have tried the non-veg thali , for same non veg items they are charging 4$ extra price for weekdays and weekends , waitress said they are adding vegetables in dal that for 4$ extra price, dosent make any sense to me and also the chicken curry and fish curry are too lame

and the desert is completely dried, can’t enjoy even a single spoon and also to much trash piled near the hand-wash area .

i will make sure to not to visit again

I ordered Chicken 65 a few days ago, and it was disappointing. It should have been small, properly cooked pieces, but what I received were large, chunky pieces that were severely overcooked. Please look at the picture—it's extremely dark and not appetizing. I ended up throwing it away.

Also, the website lists it for $13.99, but I was charged $14.99 at pickup.

I used to be a regular customer, but not anymore. Between the inconsistent food quality and over priced items, I can’t recommend this place. You may be better off looking elsewhere.

We came here for work group lunch when I came to visit. My Indian colleagues ordered. I also picked some off the menu. All the dishes were delicious. The gobi 65 was the crispiest I’ve ever had and to this day I still haven’t found one to like it. I often dream about it lol and hoping I’ll find some back home but still haven’t.

Hi , we came to Anjappar restaurant (Plano ) today for lunch. We loved all the food we ordered especially my kids too liked the foods very much like chicken soup, Nethili fish fry , chicken 65 and mutton Seetha samba biryani (ultimate) and spice level was perfect , fresh and tasty 👌👌👌. Thankyou 😊

Had lunch here with family and everything was smooth from start to finish. Staff was attentive and water/refills came quickly. The fish fry was nicely seasoned and crispy, and the Chettinad chicken curry was excellent with rice. Their Falooda stands out among everything. Too Good, Must try.

Stopped by Anjappar Chettinad Plano and had an amazing meal. The variety on the table looked incredible and everything was fresh and full of flavor. The Chicken 65 was crispy and spicy, the fried rice was well seasoned, and the biryani had great aroma and taste. Service was quick and the staff made sure we were taken care of. Perfect spot for sharing dishes with family or friends.

One of the worst place i have seen so far . I have ordered for meals and they gave the Chappathi which is old which is very hard to bite and even it was sour . And to serve 2 people they took 1 hour .will never recommend anyone

Food is decent but the service time needs to improve drastically. Having to wait for next order in between kills the hunger.

Dear owner, just hire more workers. You can't run a restaurant with 1 server. Poor soul she was trying to handle everything all at once. Not fair on her.
