I used to think this was the best deal for sit down Tex-mex in the area but now it's three price hikes later and at this point it's closer to average. The latest menus came out this week (late July 2021) and they're exactly like the old menus except for the prices being about 15% higher. This put dinner specials at $12 and and fajitas at $14. Those prices aren't really higher than most places--but they're not better anymore either. So how's the food? Well, actually.. it's exactly what you expect for the most part. Their fajitas are good--skirt steak for the beef, nothing special, just normal fajitas. The chimichangas are crispy but not layered inside like the better ones tend to be. The enchiladas are fine but quite standard there too and the menu lacks any real variety or mix and match like you might hope for. The queso is just ok yellow cheese velveetaesque, the guacamole is similarly fine but nothing exceptional. And the rellenos are exactly what you get from most places but not nearly as good as Mattito's. One item on their menu worth checking out is the steak picado which is similar to fajitas or carne asada except that the meat has been marinated in a peppery stew. Unfortunately ordering this means you don't get the fajita fixins so it's give and take. As I look at their online menu now I see the prices are at least two to three price jumps out of date and at this point I wonder if it's criminal false advertising bait and stitch. They need to either update this or take it down. You would come here expecting hole in the wall strip joint prices and instead find gringo prices. It's all fine. It's good. The place stays busy so you can't blame them for charging what the market will bear. It's just hard to not resent a little bit when things change.

Have been here once, it was okay. We order tacos and chips and salsa. The tacos were okay, not the best but not the worst. The chips and salsa were pretty tasty! Not sure I would be back for the tacos but might come back and try something else.

I ordered to go off their website menu and when I got there they tried to jack up the bill an extra ten dollars! They tried to say that was the "old" menu. They also said that's the Google menu, (it wasn't).The food is ok,too bad they won't honor their prices until they change the prices they advertise.Caveat imptor ,(buyer beware)if you order to go

We have eaten here many times. While the menu is mostly standard Tex-Mex, there are some hidden gems, like the a la crate tacos, that really stand out.

This spot is close to our house. We tried it because of Next Door reviews. We were really disappointed. The food was bland and the wait service was not very attentive at all. We won't be back. There are other restaurants with better quality food and better service for our money.

I have been going to this place for over 20 years. The food is always good, the service is always on point and the camarones a la Diabla are the bomb! They have a tasty carnitas plate. My favorite thing is that I order and it's ready to be picked up within 10 minutes. Thank you for always being consistent and tasty!

absolute best tex mex in the area, been coming here for years. always a nice staff and amazing food + amazing chips and salsa. they recently updated the inside with a gorgeous mural too!! kudos to the artist and everyone at this restaurant.

I've been coming here for years and this is one of my favorite Mexican food places in Plano - I always get the chicken fajitas and they're always so flavorful - the margaritas are pretty tasty, too!
My family and I love El Pueblito! We've been going here since they have opened and have never been disappointed. Everything here is amazing! Love it here!

Make sure you prep as it's going to be busy. Small space and heard a lot from my neighbors. It's fine. I won't turn it away if someone suggested it. But there are plenty of good places without the crowds.

Nothing great but, nothing bad, on our two trips here. What keeps it from 5*? Lack of seasoning. Ingredients are there, lots of toppings on tostada, nice cheese enchi but chili con carne bland, as was the salsa. Creamy beans and good rice. Chips served with the salsa? Great! Salsa, kinda runny and lacked any heat at all.
