Honestly we had high hopes for this place Wanton came out completely frozen underneath, they replaced it Spicy tuna tower I don’t know how they put out fish that looks like this to people to eat I’m sorry it looked bad, I didn’t even taste it 2 of the 3 meat we ordered were unedible , I think somebody needs to come check this places food security or quality
I honestly love to pay for food when I enjoy it This place doesn’t worth the 100$ bill for 2 people when half of it is literally unedible

This place is chicken soup for the soul. THEY BRING THE MEAT & FLAVOR! Can’t recommend it enough. The combination of great music, delicious food, and amazing service just hits THAT hard. BIG BIG BIG /HUGE shout out to Alex for his impeccable delivery of attentive service, I couldn’t recommend this pace enough. My husband and I always go here when we are in desperate need of cheering up, a comfy environment, and comfy place with impeccable and delicious food.

I’m a neighbor and eat the combo at Gyu-Kaku almost every day. My to-go order is usually around $13–14.
Today, the employee, Vijay V, added a $5.40 tip to my bill without my permission. When I called back to ask about it, her attitude was completely unacceptable. She interrupted me and hung up while I was speaking.
In the past, I overlooked minor mistakes such as missing rice, receiving noodles instead of rice, or not getting my salad. Nobody is perfect, and mistakes happen. But charging yourself a tip on a customer's order is completely different.
Today’s experience was unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

Came here tonight 5/30/26 with 3 adults and 2 kids, and spend over $200, the grill was filthy, we ask for new grill and they said try to cook other meat first lol, table was not clean, service was slow, employees had an attitude. Also they charge 18% grad on our check, when one of our child was 2 year old. Waiter name Andrew was rude and not helpful, not knowledgeable.

I went there with a group of friends. The food was ok, but not memorable. What bothered me was the meat items came out So SLOWLY~~~. We had waited and waited and waited. So hard to the attention from the waiters. Finally they brought us some meat and when we wanted to place another order, it took another LONG TIMEEEEEE to get the attention to place the order and another Long TIMEEEEEE to wait for the meat to be served. I left because I needed to go with 1/3 full stomach. I was still hungry. You did not expect me to eat only rice and some sides and some slow served meat right? Come on ~ I dont think that I will go there again.

If you will indulge me for a moment… in 1986, I was a child eating Japanese Bbq for the first time…. I was a young Air Force dependent in Tokyo Japan. This place took me back there… from the service, well sliced meat.. and the warm tea at the end… I was moved to tears (small tears) as I enjoyed every bite and remember how far life has come.. I’m now an old man with successful children and grand kids to look over… this place is special to me… thank you Alex you reminded me with precision and care time CAN stand still…

What a great place! Service is stellar, the food was excellent even if we cooked it ourselves. The menu is large but easy to navigate and every one of the staff was able to and enjoyed answering questions about it. We got the big feast for 4 and it was more than enough for all of us. Nice environment and awesome people! We will definitely keep this place in our regular rotation for the future. Thank you all for an enjoyable night out!

For the first time in years, I left disappointed. My food was terrible and the service was not good at all. I ordered the Hirami skirt steak, which has always been my favorite. This time, it was full of fat and was impossible to cut and/or chew. The garlic fried rice, which has always been amazing, was flavorless and, even though I stirred it repeatedly, was primarily burned in the bowl. The server took a long time to take our order and didn't check on us at all until time to bring the check. Not the normal Guy Kaku experience (I think I've been there over 50 times!). The Plano restaurant has never had the appeal of the others I've visited (Chicago and San Diego)
