The reviews rave about this place but I took my daughter there today and we got a marble and red velvet cupcake. Neither were worth the calories. They didn’t really taste like ANYTHING. The cupcakes were poorly cooked and flat. The icing was super thick but weirdly not sweet. Neither of us finished our cupcake. Disappointed.

Upset, my cupcake had a long piece of hair in it. I had to ask for a refund instead of them offering it to me. No Hairnets working with food and you have long hair that can possibly shed or fall is WILD.

Delicious unique cupcakes! Hard to compare the quality and flavor! Customer service is subpar…. I’ve been there over a dozen times and I always feel like I’m bothering them to place an order…

We ordered a customized cake for our daughter’s first birthday. The craftsmanship, flavor, and presentation were excellent. Highly recommend for any special occasion.

I’m obsessed with this bakery. I live across the street which is dangerous. I love popping in with my kids and grabbing whatever yummy cupcakes flavors they have that day. I’ve also ordered for birthdays and they’re always on time and responsive.

I’m in TN and recently started a long distant relationship with someone in Mckinny. I placed a DoorDash order as an early birthday surprise and asked they include a note for his surprise. This company did and he was so happy. Everything looked so good. I hope to visit soon to try it out. Thank you all!

Sugar Ray’s Cupcakes in Plano is taking the DFW cupcake scene to the next level! Their cupcakes are nothing short of exceptional—moist, flavorful, and beautifully crafted. The selection is impressive, offering something for every sweet tooth, from classic flavors to creative, one-of-a-kind treats.

Beyond the cupcakes, the service is top-notch. The team is friendly, welcoming, and passionate about their craft, making every visit a delightful experience. If James Beard were here today, he’d surely give a nod of approval to the quality and care that goes into every bite.

Whether you’re a cupcake connoisseur or just craving a sweet treat, Sugar Ray’s is a must-visit. They’re setting the bar high for bakeries in DFW, and I can’t wait to see what they whip up next!

Small but nice. Good staff. Decor is in a- perhaps slightly dated but- quite tasteful style and the cleanliness is immaculate.

They did have an issue with the menu board, but it's a delightful wooden board without any digital hyper animatedness and the cashier baker was very patient at explaining prices.

I got a chocolate cookie sandwich. Overall, would recommend.

Did ownership/management change? This place used to be my go-to bakery for cookies. They were expensive compared to other local places ($3 for a single chocolate chip cookie), but I didn’t mind paying because the quality was consistent and they were the best cookies in DFW.

Recently ordered the same chocolate chip and was disappointed to see that the price for a single cookie got bumped up to $3.50. I could maybe justify that if the quality was the same, but this cookie literally had only 2 tiny pieces of chocolate in it. I was questioning if I got handed the wrong thing because how do you make a chocolate chip cookie without chocolate???

At this point I might as well go to Tiff’s Treats, at least their chocolate chip cookies actually have chocolate chips.
