“We recently had the pleasure of dining at Sofra Kebab House on a cold, rainy Saturday. The owner and chef, Ray, who is from Kars in eastern Turkey greeted us and explained the dishes on the buffet. We were blown away by the flavors and authenticity of the food. We lived in Turkey for 7 years and it made us homesick. This was absolutely the best Turkish food we’ve had since moving back to the states. Some of our favorites included the grilled Adana Kebab, stuffed grape leaves, pita bread, kale salad, soup and…well we could go on and on.Ray is proud of his food and business and rightfully so. We were able to spend a little time visiting with him and although we didn’t solve any of the world’s problems, we certainly were on the same page.Great food, conversation and we made a friend! We’ll definitely be back.“

“Rakmat!!! (thank you in Uyghur) - I lived in China almost 15 years. Uyghur cuisine was prevalent and plentiful. When we returned to Dallas it was the one ethnic cuisine we simply couldn't find ... and missed so much... UNTIL NOW!! My knees almost collapsed when I first saw the sign after shopping at the nearby Ztao, and I made a beeline for the door to eat even though I was already full, I didn't care!!! IT WAS SO AUTHENTIC HOLY MOLY I'M TELLING YOU. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS FAMILY!! Recommend 大盘鸡 (big plate chicken) and 羊肉饭(mutton polo rice)!!“

“The Haydari had understated ingredients - walnuts, dill, garlic, olive oil and, of course, yogurt. There was no drip of pomegranate syrup and the dash of lemon did not mask the taste of walnuts. Excellent meze to sample the special lavash bread (surprisingly fluffy and with sesame seeds). The Shrimp Saute was doused in the classic red sauce (tomato and pepper paste perhaps with some paprika powder) and accompanied by rice. Jumbo shrimps are only offered in select Oriental restaurants. This place is not a member of that club by intent. The Grilled Whole Fish (sea bass a la Mediterranean or Bosphorus) had veggies (beets, carrots, cucumber and tomatoes). It was grilled perfectly and mercifully no butter had been applied. Reminiscent of the offerings along the Yenikapi Ferry Terminal but, of course, not as fresh. Catch and cook will always be incomparable. The Kunefe naturally did not have any artificial coloring because Turkish cuisine prides itself in avoiding artificial coloring. It is a little noisy inside but then if one is engaged in a deep conversation with one's dining companion then one can be oblivious to ambient distractions. The staff kept an eye on our table even from a distance. Never had to call out anyone for something that the staff had not already thought about - superlative customer care from experienced staff. There are some very popular dishes on the menu - Hunker Begendi and Ali Nazlik to name two that are not commonplace in DFW restaurants.Parking: While street parking is limited there are several public garages to choose from depending on whether you have plans to hop around.“

“Authentic, home cooked Mediterranean! This little hidden gem is in the Food Court at Willow Bend mall, which means not many people are here and it’s really clean. I LOVED the chicken platter with dolmas, and their baklava is to die for! Just like my adopted Greek “grandma” makes!!Do yourself a favor and come here. Very reasonably priced too!“

“We were in the area and decided to have a quick lunch here. The restaurant interior was very quiet and quaint, and our server was pleasant. We had the Falafel Starter as an appetizer. The falafel was one of the best I’ve had and liked the accompanying pita bread and hummus. For entrees, we had the Kofta Kabob and Greek Salad (add a Chicken Kabob). The food was really good and the hot tea was served in the cutest cup. I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“This place did not disappoint at all. We had the lentil soup at the beginning, it was very flavorful and was one of the best lentil soup i tried so far. We then got the super mix kebab platter, it was a lot of food for 2 people but I’m not going to complain about that. The chicken kebab was very tender and juicy, it was well marinated and seasoned as well. The adana kebab, beef kofte, lamb kebab and lamb chops had a perfect amount of salt and pepper and was very tender as well, it was perfectly cooked. At the end I ordered my favorite desert, kunefe and black tea. Kunefe was crispy from outside and cheese inside, it was perfect balance. The black tea was a little watered down, did not taste much like tea I make at home but kunefe really stole the show so I did not care much. The staff was very nice and they were very quick when it came to bringing our food to the table, they even let us reserve a table and order food on the phone because we were late for iftar.Overall, its a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts seeking authentic flavors. Whether you're craving soul-warming soups or succulent kebabs, this establishment promises a culinary journey worth savoring.“

The atmosphere enveloped us in warmth the moment we stepped in, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The highlight, without a doubt, was the food - each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that took me back to cherished family meals. What truly set our experience apart, however, was the exemplary service. The staff were attentive and proactive, anticipating our needs with a level of care and precision that was truly remarkable. It felt as though they were always there, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction, yet never intrusive. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where culinary excellence meets heartfelt hospitality.
