I have been coming to First Chinese BBQ for 30 years, starting with the original Richardson location. Takeout orders during the pandemic were disappointed. Quality of food has gone down since. Cheese shrimp (wife favorite) was very oily, a thick layer of oil at the bottom of takeout container. Dried beef flat noodle (chow fun, my favorite) was salty, the noodle was over cook and become mushy. Only the BBQ duck/pork are still OK. The Richardson location is still maintain its original quality.

We use to go once a week but decided not to go back lack of cleanliness and service. Food quality has declined and the short hair waitress there is very rude. She is more worried about getting her tip than actually giving any service. I can speak Chinese/Mandarin and they didn't know that but I can hear them talking badly about their customers. It's not all the waitresses but mostly the short hair Chinese waitress. The last time we went there was last week. I got up and headed to the bathroom and saw a rat, not a mouse but a big rat run under a pile of furniture that was stacked up but the bathroom. I told the manager at the front and she looked at me and just kept working. I guess it was not important to her. We rather drive further to find some better food and a cleaner restaurant.

The "BBQ" meal dishes - duck, chicken, pork - are typical Cantonese flavors, but not enough vegetables for a lunch plate. Other foods are rather bland, southern Chinese style. Counter service is chaotic and negligent, so customers and staff are both confused about who is ordering, who is picking up, who is paying, who is next, etc. They only accept cash, no credit cards, which is inconvenient for customers and raises suspicions of possible tax avoidance.

You would never have guessed that this restaurant existed by walking by the zTAO Marketplace. Ziky Chinese BBQ is one of several small restaurants in a food court along the back wall of zTAO. We were at zTAO looking to buy something quick to eat a late lunch, but ended up discovering Ziky and stopped to eat a full meal. The menu is MASSIVE, with options left and right. You can get rice-based dishes, noodles-based entrees, or something with soup! They also have large meat and vegetarian baos (Chinese for buns) available 4 for $6. From my experience these large baos usually run at least $2+ each elsewhere, so this is a really good deal!I ordered the Chinese Sausage Fried Rice ($10) and my wife got the Lanzhou Sliced Noodles ($10). Both were large portions (see pictures). The fried rice looked like a mound of food, towering over utensils and the surrounding table. The noodles were hand-pulled! And the broth of the Lanzhou was slightly sweet with just the right amount of spice. Both were delicious.I was stuffed after demolishing that fried rice, but I think it could have easily fed two people. My wife couldn't finish the noodles, but opted to finish the meat and vegetables as a consolation goal. The people behind the counter didn't speak very good English, but that's not an issue as you can point out what you want in hand-held menus. For the flavor of the food, price, and portion size, you'll get outsized value for what you pay. I'd happily go back to try out their other menu items, or pick up some baos for light snacks!

This is where the local Chinese eat for Chinese food! Traditional dishes are served here. Peking duck, roasted pork, soy sauce chicken to go is all there. Note only cash transactions.

Two types of persimmons and an AMAZING selection of herbal teas. You can get a HUGE amount of saffron here at a quarter of the price!
