We had a Mothers Day weekend, our entire family took up 3 rooms, #25, #26 #29 and we LOVED every bit of our stay. The front office staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the Inn and the town, gave us great recommendations and went the extra mile for us as far as accommodations. The rooms were a step into the past, that non of us had ever lived in. We enjoyed and appreciated all the period pieces of furniture and the quaint rooms. Whether it's quick adult get a way or a family fun event you won't be disappointed. If you've got the time, make plans to stay here. I could go and on.. We will be back soon 💐 Thank you again for everything
We love The Tarpon Inn! The staff is friendly and it’s convenient to great restaurants, bars, and the beach!
No tv 📺 in the room but a good bar
I stayed at Tarpon Inn for 2 nights this spring during SandFest, and I was traveling solo. I really loved the property and my room. So many beautiful historic details remain, but my room had just the right amount of modern touches. If you're looking for a completely modern room layout, this might not be what you're looking for, but I loved it. My favorite part of the property was the porch and courtyard area out back. I sat out there with a magazine both nights, it was so delightful and relaxing. There was live music as well, I also loved that. Parking was easy, there are spaces on either side of the hotel. Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance. Ferry is a short drive away.
My brother his wife and my wife had reservations for two nights. The first night we had no problems. We got up the next morning and wanted to take a shower and clean up before we meet up with friends and family for breakfast. We had no hot water in either room. We reported the problem to the office and they could not fix the problem. We left water running for over an hour in the bathroom sink and shower. We requested a refund for the one day and was told they could not honor our request and that the manager would get back to us in 3 days. The manager did call my brother and told him “No Refunds are Allowed”. after he mentioned the problem of not providing hot water, the manager told him the hotel was without hot water for 3 days and hung up on him. An argument can be made that a person could live without taking a shower for a day — but that argument can be countered by the fact that a hot shower is an expectation and essential to the experience of staying in a hotel room, for which you paid as part of the room rate. Other than home, a hotel room is the one place where you can take your time in the shower or bathtub without feeling rushed. I wrote a letter to the owner outlining the problem of no hot water and requesting a refund. I have yet to hear back from the owner and never did receive a call from the manager. Beware-Never again, a big rip off place. Very Poor Customer Service to customer complaints. OWNER DOESN’T CARE!
Of all the options for staying in Port Aransas the Tarpon Inn is definitely in our top three. It is a beautiful historical structure facing the water with a lovely upper and lower deck where you can enjoy some time to relax. There’s a courtyard in back which leads to the fantastic Roosevelt’s restaurant, as well as a separate cocktail lounge. In addition to those options, it is convenient to walk or cycle to other restaurants, shops, and of course, the beach. The accommodations do leave a bit to be desired. We’ve stayed there a few times, and the queen room has only one night stand and lamp. So, as a couple, it’s not ideal. There’s no coffee pot in the room, but there is coffee downstairs in the lobby. Though the staff is very friendly, they don’t seem very familiar with the amenities, activities, or establishments visitors might be seeking even though the front desk agent we spoke to had grown-up there. There are chairs in the room to relax, however, no tea table to rest your drink, book, etc. There was a beautiful wardrobe, but no bar or hangers for your clothing, just one stubborn drawer at the bottom. We prefer to go in the off-season when things are quieter, but there hasn’t yet been enough hot water during our visit in winter to fill up the bathtub. However, once the pipes heat up a hot shower is easily enjoyable. Perhaps these are just the inconveniences of a historical building. It’s a very charming inn with a terrific location, and we will certainly return.
Our room was quaint - a bit worn, but very clean. The wind howled through our door all night and did interfere with a good night’s sleep. Bed was a bit soft and pillows a bit flat. We enjoyed a nightcap at the newly opened Roosevelt - a welcoming spot with a neighborhood pub vibe - a nice alternative to the beach bar scene.
Enjoyed a Father’s Day Brunch, great waiter (Tommy) . Excellent Service and Food!!
Favorite hotel in Texas. Best staff. Most accommodating. Blah blah blah.
We had a great experience here on New Years Eve ! The front desk girl was absolutely the friendliest and most welcoming . We enjoyed hanging out in the court yard listening to band and having drinks at Roosevelt’s ! We will Definately visit this spot again. No TVS but the porch and court yard make up for it. Thank you for a great experience to starting 2022!

My husband and I booked a last minute reservation for this weekend at the only available place in all of Port A about 2 weeks ago.. I was a little nervous because it was the cheapest quote I got out of everywhere and didn’t want it to end up being just a dirty, old motel.
Right in the middle of everything in Port Aransas...... it’s quaint decor and they keep the place true to time period it was built.......fun friendly staff and Roosevelt’s is a wonderful place to eat!
We have loved our stay here!! Really wished the weather was more beautiful! Rained the whole time but the porch sitting was perfect, cooler temperatures. Loved room 26 it was very pretty and comfortable! If ever we come back to Port A, we will make reservations and and stay with you again!
Awesome seafood. Good service.
Renowned by locals for their excellent cuisine, service and atmosphere.
