Of all the options for staying in Port Aransas the Tarpon Inn is definitely in our top three. It is a beautiful historical structure facing the water with a lovely upper and lower deck where you can enjoy some time to relax. There’s a courtyard in back which leads to the fantastic Roosevelt’s restaurant, as well as a separate cocktail lounge. Our room was quaint - a bit worn, but very clean. The wind howled through our door all night and did interfere with a good night’s sleep. Bed was a bit soft and pillows a bit flat. We enjoyed a nightcap at the newly opened Roosevelt - a welcoming spot with a neighborhood pub vibe - a nice alternative to the beach bar scene.
