So many beautiful historic details remain, but my room had just the right amount of modern touches. Of all the options for staying in Port Aransas the Tarpon Inn is definitely in our top three. It is a beautiful historical structure facing the water with a lovely upper and lower deck where you can enjoy some time to relax. There’s a courtyard in back which leads to the fantastic Roosevelt’s restaurant, as well as a separate cocktail lounge. Our room was quaint - a bit worn, but very clean. The wind howled through our door all night and did interfere with a good night’s sleep. Bed was a bit soft and pillows a bit flat. We enjoyed a nightcap at the newly opened Roosevelt - a welcoming spot with a neighborhood pub vibe - a nice alternative to the beach bar scene.
