Desserted Island Ice Cream

Every time we visit Port A we have to stop at this place and get some delicious ice cream. There are so many flavors and desserts to choose from. You won’t be disappointed!

Cash only. They had several Blue Bell flavors to choose from and regular or waffle cones plus various types of sundaes they make. We didn't see anyone get a sundae, but it looked like those started at about$9-10. It's pricey for just regular ice cream, IMO. Four of us got single scoops, two with cones, two just in the throw away paper bowls and it was $21, before you consider the tip jar. They were nice but next time we'll just hit the grocery store for ice cream.

We were really excited to try Desserted Island Ice Cream and waited in line patiently with a group of four. One of the employees greeted us kindly and took one of our orders—she was clearly doing her best and had a great attitude despite being busy. Unfortunately, what seemed to be the owner stepped in to help and completely soured the experience. She was rushed, unwelcoming, and visibly irritated.

While one staff member was checking us out, the owner came over, snapped at her for doing it wrong in front of us, told her to move, and then scolded us for not ordering “from one person”—even though no one had said that was required. We also waited quite a while for one of our orders, and when we asked about it, she acted like we hadn’t ordered it at all.

The rest of the team was kind and clearly overwhelmed, but trying their best. Sadly, the owner’s rude and dismissive behavior was enough for us to decide we won’t be returning. Customer service matters, and there was absolutely none from the one person who should be leading by example.

Always a MUST stop for the whole family when on the island

Ordered a Banana Caramel Shake. It was $8 for a normal size cup and not only was the bananas not blended and chunky but it was the consistency of milk and not a shake. Very disappointed. Won't go again and don't recommend.

Let me start by saying we came about an hour before closing on a busy Saturday night during the summer. First of all it's cash or venmo but they have an ATM. About a third of the ice cream choices were empty. Really? With all those freezers in the place? My first two choices were empty so I ended up with vanilla 😞. There's several ice cream places in Port A. I'll try a different one next time I'm here.

Ice cream is good. Workers were rude.

Ice cream was good but the workers were extremely rude. It was like we were a burden to everyone of them. When asked if they had butter pecan the girl looked at me and went on with something else. Awful service.

Employees looked very annoyed when we walked in, didn't even greet us. Had a bad attitude. Bluntly told us they had no cones. Girl assumed I only wanted one scoop of ice cream.

They have the best brownie sundae, it was so delicious.

Super busy, but worth the wait!

The ice cream itself was really good. Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. The staff seemed visibly annoyed to be there, didn’t greet us or ask what we wanted, and just kind of stared until we ordered. A smile or even a simple “Hi, how can I help you?” would have gone a long way. Great product, but the experience would be much better with friendlier service

They only accept cash, and wait times can vary depending on when you visit—but it’s absolutely worth it. (ATM Is available in store) The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the ice cream is incredibly delicious, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Plus, the walls are decorated with photos of their dogs, which adds such a charming and personal touch! I really loved seeing their dogs pictures and the other decor was all so cute.
