Pricey but worth it. I didn't like the bacon wrapped filet. It was pretty much all bacon. Drinks were great!

Amazing little hotel. But be advised that these are just rooms to sleep in with the bathroom. See pictures on their website. The pictures are accurate. There are no other amenities, no TV in most rooms. The grounds are lovely, the pool is very refreshing and the porches are the best place to spend a hot hot day at the beach enjoying a cool breeze. Roosevelt is a great place to grab the drink a while in Port A.

This place is 10/10!! In every way. It really is an amazing piece of Port Aransas history. We only stay at the Inn when we come.

I just got back from a girls' weekend at this gem of a hotel and everyone in my group loved the property. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. They offer all the modern amenities but preserve the hotel's historical integrity. This type of charm isn't something you find in many properties these days.

I personally loved looking at all the historical pictures our room and in the lobby. The lobby has tarpon scales with past visitors' names on them--even one from Franklin Roosevelt! I spent a while just walking around and looking at all of them.

We also had dinner and breakfast at 1886 (one of the restaurants on the hotel's property), and the food was *amazing*. We ordered two orders of the focaccia bread (one wasn't enough!) and the crab cakes were so, so good!

The breakfast was great as well. Everything was fresh and delicious--especially the beignets!

Also, if you stay at the hotel, you get a discount of golf carts at Tarpon Carts, which is located right next to the property. We had one, and it was extremely convenient to be able to walk right next door for pickup and drop-off.

I highly recommend this hotel! It's a unique spot with friendly service!

We stayed in the honeymoon suite the room is good and quiet area but you would think I know it's historical but the high price they charge a night you would think they can put better toilet paper and better connection for tv cable. But overall it was ok

Went there on a whim. Drinks at the 1886. Loved the bar atmosphere, hoping to see the ghosts of Hemingway and Zane Grey. The lobby is far more interesting with a wall of signed Tarpoon scales. Long ago fished out of the area. Ordered the crab cakes. More mushy patty than a meaty cake. Would go there again to avoid tourists.

Rough experience. Smells old.Hot water in bathroom inconsistent.Blood on our quilt when we arrived.Room hasn’t been maintained very well as the pictures from the website are super outdated.Decor and furniture in the room dusty and broken. No coffee pot in room which sucked. We were here with a sold out wedding event and felt like we were crashing someone’s wedding.Reservations at Rosevelts were canceled due to wedding and we weren’t notified. The lady at the front desk with the dreads is the only reason this place gets any acknowledgment for a nice time. She was the only comfort we found here and she is amazing.History is cool in this place….but it smells like history. Needs a solid revamp. After reading some of the other reviews we decided to just make the best of it and not try and mess with talking to management as they don’t seem super willing to go above and beyond for repeat guests.NOT a $250 a night experience. Shower curtain in our room was legit from dollar tree with super cheap hooks. Not at all like the pictures on the website. Details matter and this place lets stuff slide. Stay at a name brand hotel and drive to the beach. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Walk through the lobby, see the history, and buy some swag….maybe snag a post card… but don’t stay here.

BEWARE: Check in was good, the room was as expected for something built in the late 1800's. Reason for the one ? stems from being accused of not returning both keys given to me during check in, and the lady at the front desk stating to me that she had COVID during the phone call charging me for a room key. After I asked her when she had COVID, she hesitated and said " but I've been cleared". Check in was on a Friday, BOTH keys returned into drop box at 4:50am Saturday morning. I didn't receive a call about the missing key until Sunday after the room had been cleaned Saturday, and occupied by other guests. To make matters worse the lady kept repeating they have cameras everywhere but didn't bother to check if keys were returned at the time stated. At the end of the call I was told why I was being difficult and that an invoice for the key had been sent to me already. If you are returning a key there in the drop box make sure to have video proof of some kind. Wanted to make this my go to when visiting Port A. for fishing trips but they lost my friends and my bussiness for a measly $25 key.

Wonderful, service-hearted staff from the hotel to the restaurant. Jen at the front desk gave us a tour without hesitation so we could see more of the rooms. Really recommend the FDR suite for 2+ day stays. Great food! Beautiful rooms, and in great shape for the building’s age and for being in a beach town. You can tell the management and staff really care about the maintenance of everything.Food & drinks: Roosevelt’s was so good, and the photos on Google don’t do it justice. Wish I’d remembered to take photos, but it’s more of a cozy, rustic fine dining restaurant than as casual as it appeared to us on the photos. But the bar, 1886 next door, offers a limited version of Roosevelt’s menu, a more casual atmosphere and great drinks.

Very historic place to visit and stay. Come see the wall display of tarpon scales and old pictures. There is a tarpon scale signed by Theodore Roosevelt (26th U.S. President), from when he visited and stayed at the Tarpon Inn. The lobby is open to the public visitation.Rooms: The rooms are cozy and nice.Nearby activities: The fishing and marina are just across the street, so you can easily get on a day fishing trip.Walkability: Central location that is walkable to all parts of Port Aransas. There is local city bus that can also help you get around town for $0.25 a trip.Food & drinks: Location is great, near local restaurants, and bars.Noteworthy details: Ok now here is a fun fact. The Tarpon Inn has a few ghost. If you are up for the experience, the clerks at the front desk will talk with you about them, and if available they can book you into one of there haunted rooms. Now not everybody has an ghost visit, but there is a great chance to have one.
