Since my husband is a veteran, we went there for Veterans day. There were a lot of people and they were smoking Nilgai outside with a pot luck dinner. First time we ever tried it and loved it. They only serve beer and wine there, but I heard they do setups if you bring your own booze - not sure on that though. Everyone was very welcoming.

I'd give it more stars if I could. Because it isn't just a meal. It's also an activity with deep meaning, purpose and enjoyment. For a mere $6 at this writing it was the best fish fry I've had in the Valley. But the priceless part was meeting Glen, the actual vet who caught the fish, and others at the bar. There's something about American Legions. I've spent a little bit of time in this one and I'm happy to say that it's pretty timeless. You may know this but the American Legion is more than a bar with cheap (like super cheap) beer. It's a patriotic veterans organization. It's also the place to find people with stories that we should all hear. Stories of war and age and life that hold truths that might help us better understand our country and inform our futures.
