“Really great place to eat! Nice variety of bbq'd meats (fantastic brisket), tender turkey, tasty chili, beans, creamy potato salad, plus not-too-spicy jalapeno corn. Meats sold by the pound or get a combo plate. They also have HUGE tamales ($8 each) that sell out quickly, although you may call ahead and order by the dozen ($80). Meal includes bread, cornbread and a small carton of Blue Bell ice cream. Great service, they checked on us a few times to see what else we needed. Single, clean, restroom located outside.”

“We had heard that their burgers were very good so we decided to try them. We ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers and onion rings. Everything was fantastic. The burgers tasted like a homemade burger. So tasty and juicy. The onion rings were wonderful too. We will definitely be going back!”

“The food was awesome, but the Prickly Pear Rita was absolutely terrible. So sour it was impossible to drink. We made our “waitress in training” aware of the issue. She did take it back to the bartender who told her that the drink could not be replaced and if we wanted a different drink, we would be charged for it as well. No one, including the bartender, bothered to come ask us what was wrong with the drink. We will be back for the food and the awesome view.”

“Visited for Valentine's Day and had the special Chicken Fried Ribeye with 2 sides, a drink of choice and a special dessert. It was an amazing meal at a very reasonable price. One of the few recent 1st visits to a restaurant that my wife and I agreed immediately upon the first few bites that we'll definitely be returning to have a meal again. Great atmosphere and seats more than it may seem from outside. It's great to have an option in Historic Downtown Port Lavaca that makes a date night, or any night, worth the visit. Great place!”

“I saw Cathy at my job cuz she was picking some stuff up. I asked her if she would put two gumbo aside. When I got there after work she wasn't there but the other lady was very nice. She offered to let me taste it but I declined. I'm having it now for dinner and I love it. I love the spices and the right amount of kick to it. The gumbo is shrimp and crab and it's delicious. I would definitely get this again.”

“Order chicken fried steak with fries salad and toast. Have to say best chicken fried steak I have had. Very cute place. Very colorful. Staff was really nice and accommodating. The salad bar is amazing and has every option. I think I have found the hidden gem ? here in Port Lavaca. I will definitely be back. Thank you for amazing food. Keep up the good work. “Food was good. We arrived about 45 minutes from closing time so we were one of the only tables in the dining room but it took a long time to get our food and service was just OK. They were probably busy with the closing duties. Margarita was terrible. Would go back though and would recommend.”

“Drive through. Excellent chicken flautas, huevos rancheros are good rolled up in the included tortillas. Also had the corn with mayonnaise and hot sauce. I really enjoy this corn dish. The drinks are really good. We had the strawberry and the melon. Taste is faithful to the fruit and is mixed with ice. Lots better than carbonated beverages. Also have had excellent tamales which are white corn massa with no included meat. Surprisingly good with a sweet taste. Service at the drive through is quick and good for a good pickup meal.”

“We enjoyed our gorditas! I had beef and Jen had the pork. We drove through, so the atmosphere score doesn't really reflect on the inside but I'm sure it's ok. Service was good, we ordered and he asked us to pull around front. The wait was quick. One thing I didn't like was the condition of the menu. I didn't know what to order or how much it cost. They need to fix that.”

“When we drove up, it was really busy, I thought it would take forever to get our food, but we didn't have to wait long at all and our food was fresh and delicious. And the service was great. Good job !”

“I ordered the shredded chicken enchiladas with white cheese sauce. It came with rice and beans. I ask for some green sauce, because I like a little picante. The food came out hot and was very tasty.The portions was good size. It was not oily or greasy like other places I eaten I cleaned up the plate.”

“Homey atmosphere..50 + years in business..food a bit bland but salt gets you there. Staff ..our waitress was perfect. Homemade tortillas and a hometown feel where everyone who's there seems to know each others name kinda thing. Great hot sauce. A kid friendly for sure and even BLTs..a once a weeker.
