We drove into Port Lavaca looking for good, fresh seafood and Bayside did not disappoint. We had the jumbo fried shrimp with baked potatoes and calamari for our appetizer.
The calamari was fresh cut and hand breaded. The shrimp with jumbo and freshly cooked. The breading wasn’t heavy, and it was very flavorful. The size was perfect. You had the choice of 6 shrimp all the way up to 20.
We are so glad we stopped in, this was some of the best shrimp we’ve had in a long time and it was worth the drive over from Bay City.

Lady who answered phone is short and doesn't even say thank you. Walk in and 3 workers were standing there talking for a few minutes before one decided to acknowledge me. Tasted like gumbo came from frozen or a can. Just not a great experience over all for being so close to the ocean

My husband and I are here from out of town and wanted to give this place a try. The food was "okay" but wayy over priced. The worst part of the evening was the service. It was beyond ridiculous. We were sat, she took our drink and food order, brought our food and then NEVER CAME BACK! No drink refills or anything. We didn't see her again until my husband had to flag her down to get our ticket. Worst service I've ever had ???

A fantastic lunch experience. It is a causal atmosphere. Great dining space. The servers are all friendly, pleasant, quick, and helpful. On the occasion we visited, the three of us enjoyed a great Lobster Alfredo dish. The portion was very generous and loaded with lobster. It could have easily been split and shared by two people. The price was very reasonable and the quality of the food was very good. I noticed they had large round tables available like that of ones in Chinese restaurant. They could seat 8 guest comfortably.
Beware they do not honor the prices on this menu. I called in my order and it was 9$ more than advertised, they said not their fault... very poor customer service!!!!

Bayside used to be one of our favorite places to eat. My family, friends and I would eat here ALL the time, but the last visit was HORRIBLE!! I was very sad and disappointed. ? I took my mom for her 71st birthday. It was my mom, dad and I. After we ate, I asked the waitress if they give a free dessert on customer's birthday. She said, "Yes, cheesecake. Would you like 1 or 3 (since there were 3 of us)?" I then asked if they were "on the house." She replied, "Yes." Once we received the bill, we were charged for each piece of cheesecake - $5.99 each. I very calmly explained to the owner what was discussed between the waitess and I about the desserts being free for mom's birthday. She was extremely rude, caused a scene, told us that she didn't care of we EVER came back again, and decided to charge us anyway. It upset me so bad that I did not eat my cheesecake. She picked up my piece, and took it to the back. I was truly concerned she might be serving it to the next customer who ordered cheesecake. Yuk. The owner completely ruined my mom's birthday. I normally never post reviews, but she ruined my mom's birthday, and the thought of her reserving food made me sick.
