“Saw it online and tried since we were close. Friendly and helpful lady behind counter, offered us samples and all the food was great. We ate there but took food to go. Everything was delicious.“

“I like the subs here even supposedly they are not good. But I see it as for a burger it will be a small piece of meat with a bun. At least here it is bigger the quantity for the price. Kinda pricey for the amount someone would order but it is good for one person better to order the footlong than half. You get more for what you order. Than like a burger and could save the rest for later. Staff are great their just the people who order may take longer than usual.“

“I've always thought LJS is a good deal. The food was good, the service was expected and the old school feel of this location gives it a 4 star. The ice machine was not working nor was there any tea available. Not big things since I was in no hurry. The outside the building needs to be cleaned up and refurbished, a fresh/clean look. Don't change the building style though.

Dietary restrictions: Many forget the LJS added to their menu awhile back. There are some Lite items if you are trying to watch your calories.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely for kids as it is a great way to try fish or other seafood. Also they still give out their pirate hats!“

“The food is not as good as Mexican but for the United States, I think the price is affordable and you can eat healthy and be vegan. Just check because almost everything has animal products, I recommend that you order a salad ? with everything you want and the tortillas on the side. This is the only way to ensure that it is vegan.

Vegetarian options: Vegan options, it comes with specifications which allergenic ingredients it includes. Ingredients of animal origin also come.

“This whataburger has gone down,I'm assuming, since there was a change of management.
I brought up their tea tasting watered down as well as it tasting bad, almost like they haven't cleaned the containers.
I asked if they could brew a fresh batch and have it cleaned. Only to get the run around. I don't drink soda and am a huge tea person. Will not be visiting this particular whataburger anymore.“

“Just came to the Mercedes location the workers were great I feel that there pay is too little on what they have to do they go inside charge but I can’t give them a tip cause I don’t have a option on the receipt another thing is notice that a lot of the items have gone up in price if your gonna increase the prices increase the workers pay as well I use to work in the progreso location and it hasn’t changed where you put the large pan of water you cook up the meat and you put the meat in the water and you leave it there until somebody orders the meals then you just reheat the meat and you sell it not fresh at all you guys need to change that method your gonna get somebody sick or killed from food poisoning this is why I don’t ever get any burgers from stars cause of the way you cook them and people who are gonna read this it is the truth and I have friends who work there as well and tell me the same thing“

“Stopped by after doing some downtown vintage store browsing in Weslaco. Many times when I need more protein, I’ll drop by and grab the 1/2 lb roast beef plain and devour the meat. Quick high protein go to when I’m in a rush and have to grab a quick out there bite. The food is very fresh and the staff is amazing and helpful. The place isn’t very busy but I can appreciate how clean and accommodating they are. I’m glad there’s at least one of these available in the valley. ❤️❤️“

“This location is always so busy, yet the staff is very efficient at getting you what you need quickly. I usually order on the app, and they normally find me before I get to the front of the line. My only advice is on getting to the location. It's cumbersome to enter through the expressway, and if you miss the entrance, you have to circle back around the block. I'd recommend going in through the car wash on Texas Blvd. Parking is very limited here as there isn't enough space for all the patrons that try to dine in. This location is, again, very busy. So take out is the best choice here. Make sure to use the app and order ahead.“
