Cafe Max Reviews
1st time here! Terrible customer service today. Menu was contradictory. My 80 yr mother ordered the Quiche and Soup. Menu says you get a roll or muffin with your soup. BUT if you order the combo, you don't get the roll or muffin?? What's up with that? Same size bowl of soup. Not a great way to treat a senior citizen. When I addressed it with the server, he would not budge. NO ROLL FOR YOU! Good grief! ... I also inquired about the chicken salad. I wanted a chicken salad sandwich....read full review
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?? I’ve been going to Cafe Max in Richardson for decades. Back to when they were still at Campbell and Plano. I’ve even used them to cater events. I drove an hour to go there with my sister today for lunch and we were so disappointed! I don’t know who changed the chicken salad recipe, but they should be fired. I’ve sung the praises of Cafe Max chicken salad for more than 30 years and recommended it to everyone I know. Sadly, I can’t recommend it now....read full review

Cafe Max is known for its delicious pre-made salads, including the chicken Caesar and chicken salad. The seafood, vegetables, potatoes, fruit, cucumber, and pasta salads are also highly recommended. The salad trio is a popular choice. The Caesar salad dressing is thick and creamy, the lettuce is crisp, and the croutons are crunchy. The zucchini muffins are a customer favorite. The service is quick, accurate, and the staff is pleasant and friendly. The dining room has a minimalist decor, but the focus is on the wonderful food and catering. It is a great spot for lunch.
The restaurant offers a convenient takeout option, with customers able to pick up their orders on Saturdays and enjoy a picnic in the park. The pasta, chicken & fruit trio with extra muffins and oatmeal cookies are popular choices for those who live further away but crave Cafe Max's offerings. While the salad selection has remained consistent, the quality and service remain excellent. The food is fresh, and portions are large. Many customers praise the delicious soup and Caesar salad, with some favorites like Chicken Poblano Soup being described as the best ever. The chicken breast in the chicken sandwich is seasoned and prepared in house. Desserts are also available, making it a good choice for a healthy lunch or a meal with family. The staff is friendly, and the service is great. However, the entrance has high lips that could pose a challenge for wheelchair users. Overall, Cafe Max continues to be a reliable spot for tasty salads, soups, and friendly service.
