For a long time we wanted to visit Gopal restaurant at Richardson, Tx. Finally, we took the plunge today and went to have our lunch. First, the restaurant ambience was in poor taste. We ordered 2 limited vegetarian thali, one with Aloo paratha and the other one with Bajri Rotla. The Aloo parathas were overtly stuffed with potatoes and the bajri rotlas were undercooked. Food is very nice .. Service nice. Felt like I was in India. So authentic experience but AC would have been nice . Less clutter next to the tables would give the place a nice look.
People who worked there were very nice .

The restaurant is in a run down strip mall. The restaurant didn’t have a working AC when we visited. Service is quite poor.
We had tried their catering a couple of places and it was excellent but the restaurant was disappointing.
We tried the sec puri, lilva kachori, khasta kachori - all were “okay”. I do recommend the dabeli.
Lastly, recommend their Gujarati style Indian food catering menu.
