Egg Tarts

My family used to get egg tarts from this bakery every time we'd come up to Dallas, recipe hasn't changed and they're still as delicious, buttery, and fluffy as ever. You do need to make sure to call ahead as they only do takeout, and try to be patient as I'm pretty sure the man who makes the egg tarts is the only one who runs the store and his English is a little broken. Little bit on the pricey side but I still think it's worth it. Give it a try!
Eaten egg tarts from Hong Kong, Houston, to Vancouver.
These in Dallas have a flaky crust with a buttery underside. The egg custard has rich, milky texture. Solid good. Not elite but better than the average.
Note: it’s a one man operation. So if you walk in, you cannot just pick up egg tarts. You need to order prior to coming (so be ready to speak Cantonese or English). It takes 15 minutes to bake for pick up. Peace.

The egg tart is pricey but indeed super good. The shop looks exactly like something from the old Hong Kong movies, although it is not a fancy place, it definitely got the right vibe.
