I stopped by after church to make an order to go. When walking in I could see the sitting area was clean, however the counter is a throw off. They have warming area at counter but it’s full of black bags. I started to leave but I was like give it a chance. Well the young man that assisted me at the counter was so nice and helpful just very respectful young man. I give him a 5 star! I ordered the smothered pork chops with 2 sides (cabbage & candied yams). Well I first asked the young man if the yams were good, I told him I was really picky about my yams so many say they can make them but they can’t. He assured me they were popular. Well I didn’t like them very dark and overwhelmed with nutmeg. The cabbage was over cooked, cabbage turns dark when overcooked. There were red pepper flakes in the cabbage but there was no seasoning they had a very weird bland taste. The pork chop was ok the cornbread muffin was burned but it was ok. I was really hoping to get some good food today but it was a disappointment. However the young man was such a STAR with customer service I would try them again just not order their yams or cabbage.

Hey Nana. I ordered today after my friends told me about your place. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to see my church members all gathered at a table. This quickly became a family gathering. Nana came out and talked to us and was very friendly.The food was delish is all I can say. I kept asking myself while eating, "Am I just very hungry, or is this food really good?". Well, the food was on point and so was Nana. The turkey wings and ox tails were sooo delicious; both seasoned perfectly.Thank you for a wonderful experience.Tamera

I wanted to love this place so bad! The food missed the mark. I visited last month. I ordered a smothered pork chop, Mac and cheese, potato salad, yams, sweet potato pie, and kool-aid. The potato salad and kool-aid were the best things. The smothered pork chop was floating in oil. The pork chops also seemed a little undercooked, the Mac and cheese lacked flavor, and the yams were just the pie filling both of which were bland. I was very surprised and a little sad that I wasted my money. There was an older lady and man working. They were very sweet. They just need to go back to the drawing board on the food.

I have never met a more friendly staff. I was the only one in the restaurant and they gave amazing recommendations. I had the smothered pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans. Those green beans were a spiritual awakening for me. They were so good. I could eat a whole plate of just that. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the gravy was a symphony of flavor. The pork job fell off the bone so easily I could cut it with a fork. I can’t wait to come back and get my fix again. This food was so delicious. So glad I stumbled upon this place.
