We went out to see Arnie Newman play guitar. Arnie was awesome but no suprise there. Arnie was the guest of Jerry Don Branch & Co. and wow. They were just as awesome. Especially Jerry Don, but especially the bass player, but especially the drums. I was told these guys are there every Thursday night, often with a guest player. Last night a group of friends and I decided to stay local and hit up a bar in Richardson. We chose The tavern and it was such a good time. A dive bar with pool tables, foosball, games and karaoke. Needless to say, our group of 12 Asians enjoyed our night. Drinks were priced just right, casual vibes and we sang our hearts out on stage. 10/10!!!!
This is a fun dive bar. My friend and I were unaware of the atmosphere prior to going. It feels like you're going back in time 20-ish years as they allow smoking indoors & the lighting is very dark. The service is great. The food is good, & it's a laid-back vibe, but you will smell like smoke when you leave.
