Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

We went to Rudy's for barbecue on Monday November 3 at about 11:10 am. We have been eating at Rudy's for many years since the first Rudy's opened in Austin Tx. We expected to find fresh meat hot out of the pit at that time of day. I ordered turkey sliced thin, and my wife ordered brisket. When I took a bite of the meat I realized it was cold and dry. My wife's brisket was lukewarm at best. We asked for the manager and told him the meat was cold. He scooped it up and threw it in the trash and went back to the register. I followed him and asked for a refund for the meat since it obviously was not fresh. The manager entered something in the register and handed me a receipt for out drinks and my potato salad. The total amount of the original order is still showing in our bank account.
He never said a word or offered an explanation. We will not visit that Rudy's again.

Rudy’s BBQ never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. Their brisket and baked potatoes are must-tries, and the casual, friendly atmosphere makes it perfect for families or groups. A great spot for some good old-fashioned Texas barbecue.

Service is meh. But what can you expect from what it looks like high schoolers?

Their turkey quality gas gotten better compared to prior years. Brisket (moist) is still one of my favorites. Their pickle quality went downhill 😞. I remember getting a bunch to eat especially when I was pregnant because of the crunchiness. Now every bit is a bit soggy and it's not just the latest trip I made, but the last 3-4 trips.

This was my first time trying this food. I stopped in to gran something quick, while heading to visit someone in the hospital. The cashier was amazing, but far from indicative of the food. It was horrible. I ordered brisket moist trimmed, 1/2 pound of pork ribs, and a half chicken. My brisket was mostly fat and the little meat I did receive was very tough. The three ribs were all bone with little to no meat, and the skin on the breast of the chicken was white and the rest of the chicken was dry. If you have a chance to visit, DON'T. I was so upset I forgot to take pictures. I just threw the food away. $30 wasted! 2 stars for service.

I’ve been eating Rudy’s a LOT lately, bc it’s right next to my work and it’s a good non processed healthier lunch.
Last night my husband picked me up turkey breast and bean salad.
I noticed the turkey breast was COVERED in black pepper. Turkey breast is what I always get and NEVER has it been like this.
Then about 20 mins after eating what I could bc it was hard to eat with all that pepper I got super sick to my stomach. I’m not sure if it was the turkey or the beans or all that pepper but something made me sick to my stomach.
I’m super bummed bc I still have 1/2 a pound of turkey in my fridge that I was going to take for lunch tomorrow, but am NOT.
Plus this is my go to spot to eat lunch. I’ve been going just about weekly for a while.
Now I’m scared to eat there.

Went there for breakfast. Nearly no one was there, but the breakfast tacos were pretty good. A little bit tough to find the coffee.
