I recently placed an order for a custom Mexican Vanilla cake with a delightful strawberry filling from this baker. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short of my expectations.Firstly, the cake's appearance was not what I had envisioned. While I requested the custom cake without any tilt, it arrived slightly lopsided, which was rather disappointing. The baker attributed this to the heat, but I couldn't help but feel that better precautions should have been taken to ensure the cake's presentation was spot-on.Moving on to the taste, I was excited to savor the unique Mexican Vanilla flavor complemented by the luscious strawberry filling. However, the reality was far from enjoyable. The cake lacked the distinctive taste of Mexican Vanilla that I had experienced before. It also felt dry, and the strawberry filling failed to add the burst of flavor I had hoped for. The combination simply didn't work as well as I anticipated, leaving my taste buds unsatisfied.Given the underwhelming taste and the presentation issues, I couldn't help but wonder if the price was justified.Edit*******Just to clarify some of the things posted as a replyThere was tilt when you handed over the cake. We did not have an outdoor party and kept the cake in Fridge and removed it only before the celebration. I also did not receive any discount/refund. Thank you.

This was the best cake I’ve ever had! It was moist and delicious! The service was professional and exceptional with a little bit of “Southern” hospitality with it, ?. Seriously, when I say southern hospitality I mean down to earth, personable, and full of joy. If you haven’t eaten the cake, DO IT! If you haven’t experienced her down home professionalism, than DO IT! You won’t regret it. Oh, wait, for those wondering what she did for me, well, she made one of the best Hennessy Birthday cakes for my son who turned 21…he loved and so did we! Thank you Poindexter Confections for the best cake and surprise delivery for my son…he will never forget it!

I called Poindexter Confections on Saturday, looking for a custom birthday Cupcake Cake (for my wife) on the following Sunday and...it was NO PROBLEM. Ms. Poindexter made it better than I expected, for less than I expected and, definitely, faster than I expected. We were having a picnic-type celebration, so I ordered a little more than I needed. When I gave out some cupcakes to other people picnicking in the area - it was as if I had given them the best meals of their lives. I was happy, my wife was very happy and even strangers got to share in some of the happiness! Do yourself a favor...order something from Poindexter Confections, she does not disappoint!!!
