Brisket was tough not tender, pinto beans were hard and had sour taste, mashed potatoes had no flavor and no gravy. Positively will not go back there. A positive disappointment.

First thing, the smell of the place turns you off. I tried to get past it, but I couldn't. Our server was awesome and checked on us often. The meat, green beans, fish, and onion rings were good, but everything else was sub par. The only taste I could get from the potato salad, was what I imagined the smell was coming from. BBQ Beans had no BBQ to them. Food prices seemed reasonable, but drinks were crazy expensive. Just highly disappointed for a place that is supposed to be one of Rowlett's top restaurants.

Fried green tomatoes and fried catfish were fantastic! Crispy coated, golden fried deliciousness with just the right amount of seasoning. Their BBQ is also amazing. Pulled pork, yum! We usually take home leftovers from a restaurant, but at this place we HAD NO leftovers. I ordered an extra order of brisket to take home. Sammy Lou's is worth a special trip, just for the tomatoes alone. Seriously, if you live within 50 miles, it's worth the drive.

Would have loved to eaten here. My mom and i waited by the sign "please wait to be seated", had a waitress walk past us, twice. Maybe she was confused because my mom is in a wheelchair so technically she was already seated? I don't know. Two other servers were standing in the back and the first waitress walked out to help a table so, i don't know. Didn't want to wait for her to walk past us a third time so we left.

Just happened by and was hungry so we went in and had dinner. The service was incredible. Everyone was so friendly. Service was also incredible, fast! So clean! BBQ was very good but have had better. Was a great find and will visit again when in the area. Already know what I will try next time.

Racist, rude, waste of time. Ordered food to go sat for 45 mins to an hour to have our food sit in the window to get cold. Had to ask the waiter to bring our food to go and the fries were cold and mushy from the steam in the to go box. And after waiting and asking for food they couldn’t even complete our order correctly. Well we sat and waited longer for the rest of the order we asked them to remake our food because it was completely cold at this point they told me to warm in the microwave. Now we are still waiting for our food longer the manger comes rushing us upset that we asked for fresh food and just threw money at us to leave. We wasted over an hour, no food and money thrown at us.

Last 2 times we've ordered from here it has not been good. Brisket was dry with no taste. Sausage was bland. This used to be our favorite bbq restaurant. I thought maybe it was under new ownership or something. Just hasn't been good. Sadly we'll be finding another.
