Food was good but the charge extra because six people but on separate tickets. No 20% was warranted at all...do go here if you have more than two people

Ive always heard great things about this place but I have to say I was a little disappointed. The prices definitely don't match the quality of food.

Really disappointing meal. Ordered Chicken Parm and Chicken Picatta to go which we do occasionally. Chicken Picatta salty, very little sauce. Chicken Parm was edible but light on flavor and greasy--sub par. Side of pasta skimpy—picture posted below. Calamari overcooked and soggy. Disappointing for $100 meal. Will drive to Belton next time--have the cost, much better food experience.

I only posted this hoping the owners will see it to address issues with staff.
I can't make up how bad it was. The table was too high for our grandchild in a highchair that she couldn't even see at table level and couldn't eat off the table due to it being over her head. When we addressed it, they said they didn't have any taller high chairs and didn't offer us a different seating arrangement even though they have standard height tables available. We only saw our waiter twice in the first hour. Addressed it with him and he apologized, but nothing changed . We were seated in the basement and were the only ones down there and they seem to have forgotten about us. No one showed up for 20 minutes. Waiter showed up and apologized but took forever for drinks and only saw him a second time in the first hour. I ordered a beer and it was rank and had to send it back. Took forever to get the second beer. Literally bottled beer, walk upstairs, get one, come back with it. We all talked about leaving due to the rough start but stuck it out unfortunately. Ordered three appetizers and they all made it out before our first round of drinks ever showed up. They were OK but nothing special. Steaks were good. The rest of the food and sides were lukewarm at best and just OK. Lobster Pappardelle was tough and un edible. Had to send that plate back. While we're eating, we are apparently in the speakeasy, where people have liquor lockers. Random people were coming in getting into lockers. It was very odd. One lady came in with a friend and couldn't remember her combination. She was just talking to her friend and rambling on about what her combination might be like we weren't even in the room. This is a small room, there was literally less than a foot of room between the back of our chairs and the lockers and random people are coming in while you're eating??
It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was not that crowded and it made no sense how poor everything was. Our waiter did say that maybe, kinda, possibly he could comp us one dessert for the table for it being so bad. I let him know I wasn't interested in having anything comped that we just had an expectation of decent service and food. The manager came to the table at the end and said he'd heard there was a problem and I simply explained that it was a very poor experience overall. He comped the entire meal for all of us which at this point we felt was deserved. We are very grateful since they did make it right in the end, but something has to be done to bring the service and food up to standards.

Favorite date night spot for cocktails and appetizers
This house has so much character! The aesthetic is so cute. They even have a speakeasy downstairs (so cool!). Drew and the two hostess were so sweet and kind. They all truly made us feel so welcome. My husband had the 14oz wagyu steak, butterfly shrimp and I had the Barton’s alfredo pasta and Caesar side salad. Every dish was fantastic. The drinks were tasty. Definitely need to try the whiskey and wine cocktail. I heard their brunch was amazing too. We’re definitely trying that out soon! 12/10 experience.
Nice dining experience here with one big caveat…the first room dining area is not conducive to having a quiet or normal conversation. Met Lauren who is the manager there, very sweet lady and although we were a walk-in got us a table as they were a bit busy. Our server Lindsey got us set up with beverages and we reviewed the menu. I saw some of the appetizers go by so decided not to start there as they were huge. We ordered the Chicken Marsala and the Texas Pork Chop with add-on side salads. I’m not normally a fan of Marsala with mashed potatoes BUT this dish was delicious and the potatoes were a perfect accompaniment. The chicken nicely breaded and tender while the Marsala sauce was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. The pork chop was grilled and charred perfectly and the bacon jelly was “WOW” when combined with the chop. Really good food, a bit higher in the price range (dinner + 1 drink/1 beer for two $100), and good service in a converted old home. Why not 5 Stars…service was a bit disjointed and slow, loud dining area, bringing out my daughters dish with mashed potatoes (pork chop dish) when we discussed over and over again gluten and dairy dietary issues and said no mashed potatoes.

Overall, the food was okay aside from my dish. I ordered the Lobster Papperdelle. The description is "lobster, cream sauce, pepper". My mind obviously goes straight to a creamy cheese sauce like Alfredo. When I received my plate, it was in a yellow curry sauce with large slices of bell peppers. It was 100% the opposite of what I wanted and I feel the description is misleading. When I told my waitress that it didn't meet what I expecting, there was zero reaction. I can't be the only person who has been disappointed in this dish. I will say, there was a good amount of lobster in the dish that my husband ate out, otherwise, we left the full plate there. I do not like curry and would have never ordered this if I knew that's what the sauce was so this was a wasted $39.
Aside from that, my family enjoyed their food. The ribeye lasagna was really good.

We had a nice dinner here yesterday! We were a group of four people. The decor is interesting. I love historic and old architecture so the Barton House is fascinating to me. The food was delicious. The drinks were good too. The wine was a fine choice. Our waitress was friendly and nice. Dessert was scrumptious. I want to thank the wonderful lady with the son riding out the hurricane in Florida for dessert. I’m so sorry we didn’t get your name. We will definitely come back again! Thank you for an enjoyable experience!
