We are from out of town. Came to Hidalgos because Henry’s was closed (that’s where we normally go when we’re in town). I regret that. The food was not good, there was also a hair in my food. When I got to the bottom of my cup I almost threw up because the inside of the cup was absolutely disgusting. I told my waiter and nothing was said. Hidalgo's West offers delicious Guiso plates and Mundo dishes, although some items may need improvement. The food is excellent and made in a timely manner, with great service from attentive waitstaff. Prices are unbeatable, and many customers appreciate the fast service. The restaurant has a tight parking situation, but the interior design is pleasing, despite some tables and chairs feeling a little outdated. The tea could be better due to water quality issues, and while the overall initial odor and somewhat grimy appearance did not invite initial confidence, the food remains a highlight. Despite minor flaws, Hidalgo's West is a wonderful place to dive into rich Mexican traditions and is a nice stop for a meal.
