We woke up early to try out this BBQ mentioned on Reddit. It was kind of in the middle of nowhere and the parking wasn’t great- it had rained the prior day and the gravel parking lot was super muddy. Mix that with some of the pothole-like holes in the parking lot and it was not a great combo. We were one of the first ones in line and were able to order quickly. What I didn’t like about this restaurant was that they charged for their ribs by the bone, meaning at least half of the weight was the bone. For our rib we ordered, while large, was mainly fat and bone, was like $70. There were not many tables and it was cold out, meaning the outdoor tables weren’t usable. I sat near an outside door and the tables were so cramped that somebody threw the door into my body while I was trying to eat, resulting in a bruise. And upon visiting the bathroom, it was barely lit and there were exposed screws and nails near the floor, which could pose a hazard for young kids if they’re running around.

I’m so salt so the meat was way too salty for me. The service was great. I love the country home smokehouse atmosphere. Nothing fancy.

Last Saturday around 2 p.m. your brisket game was off. I asked for half burnt ends & half marbled and all I got was the same consistency of the driest brisket I've ever had from yall with a thin layer of rubbery fat with a little bit of seasoning on the end. It was not moist, not marbled, no burnt ends & not very flavorful. $30 is a lot of money for me to be spending on brisket that isn't going to satisfy my appetite for brisket. I got the $30 small one lb of brisket and one side meal deal. Also the last time I got a Thursday or Friday chopped brisket sandwich special, it was way more expensive than what it said online and the second time I got it it was mostly fatty instead of meaty & delicious like it was the first time. Also I do not like having to wait in a Drive-Thru Lane for 45 minutes to 1 hour wasting my time, gas and money, when I should be able to go inside and order it and just wait there or text or call it in ahead of time to pick up but y'all never let me do that anymore and y'all haven't been answering the phone or the text. Maybe if I give you all a break, things will go back to being better. Yall used to be #1 in the brisket game. I'm sad.

Update, After not coming for a few years because of the last numerous times of disappointment of this consistently ridiculous price increased bbq, Higher than anywhere else , but not as good as anyone else anymore, I decided to give this place another chance. $29 later...I didn't even want to finish my half pound of bbq (for $32 or more per pound) or the rib I got. My parents didn't even want to eat it.. I almost threw it away. Not sure if I got someone else's order or not. Maybe they felt bad about the brisket quality,.so they gave me a rib. They were out of the project belly I wanted to try
It was Maybe almost 1pm by then. They forgot the chicharone I asked for,.for my macaroni. I only got picked, not onions, so not sure if they ran out or those were Xtra. I remember used to could get the onions. The brisket was dry and not marbled and I didn't grt the burnt end I asked for. He asked me which side I wanted it from. I didn't care but I wanted of the ends I asked for that he promised me. Probably costs even more...but I didn't care, that's what I asked for and wanted. I'll keep going to true tx bbq cuz it tastes better and is half the price.

I loved this BBQ. Brisket, pork belly, and ribs were in my order. I’ve been to several of the Texas Monthly top ten and various of the others that make up the top 50. This place certainly belongs on the list. The guys cutting and serving were awesome and friendly. Heartily recommend. Will be back.

I wish I could give this place 10 STARS!! We found this smokehouse on Google after reading an article mentioning Michelin Guide and top 50 in Texas. We made the trip, arrived just after open at 11am and there was already a line - impressive! The food was OUTSTANDING! Come prepared to want to try everything on the menu and give them all of your hard earned dollars. We spent $140 for two people because we're from Michigan and there's nothin' like this at home, but it was worth every.single.penny! We sat outside at the adorable little picnic tables, the brisket and Texas Rib was our favorite and the housemade bbq sauce went on everything we ate! Everything was amazing!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have tried many of the other specialty BBQ in the San Antonio area (Pinkertons, Reese Bros, Burnt Bean) and was excited to try 2M. However, I was disappointed with everything we ordered outside of the mac. Brisket was dry. Sausage casing was too thick and sausage was overall without flavor. Sauce was overly sweet. Mac was good, but not as good as some competitors. We did eat later in the day around 2, which could have affected quality. But overall, felt that meat quality did not compare to other counterparts in the area.

2M smokehouse did not disappoint. The gentleman on the board worked with me when I said I wanted to try 1/4 lb. of everything. Employees worked together like a well practiced team which is always great to see. Pork belly was phenomenal along with the brisket, ribs, and turkey. The pulled pork isn’t so entertaining on its own, but pulled pork isn’t pulled pork without a great sauce (which they provide). The Mac & cheese was great, and the beans were are some of the best I’ve ever had. Huge fan of the house made pickles as well (I want the recipe now haha) Best bbq in SA in my opinion.

Amazing BBQ place! The brisket cheddar melt was outstanding, and their new side the Pitmaster Helper was a hit! Service was great and the counter service was quick and easy to navigate. Overall a perfect lunch spot.

Sime very well done bbq in Central Texas, no frills, awesome quality and abundance of food, very friendly service, gets crowded as soon as they open, so plan accordingly
