I recently visited Acadiana Cafe in San Antonio, TX, and had a mixed experience. I ordered the Cajun sampler and a piece of fried catfish. The catfish was nicely fried with good flavor, but the portion size was disappointingly small. As for the Cajun sampler, it fell short of my expectations. Growing up on Cajun food, I'm used to bold, well-seasoned dishes, but the sampler was lacking in that department. The gumbo was watery and missing the essential filé powder, the crawfish...
Super sad Acadiana is closing. We went one final time for my mom's 80th birthday. We had a large group, but was seated within minutes. The food was great, the service was great. Thank you for the many years of memories, you will be missed!
Oh my goodness, the food is so like our Stevens family Alabama home cooked seafood . Many of my South San Antonio ISD coworker- teachers and friends have been coming to this restaurant since Frienchie was the owner. Over off of Callahan by West Avenue.
My whole family have made Acadiana Restaunt and Dave our Sunday Go to and family and West End Baptist Church celebrations since the restaurant moved over there.
