My wife and I decided to try something new simply because we love Truly Selzer on draft, and we found out Anchor Bar had it available. We figured we’d just grab a small appetizer or some wings—but wow, the wings were bomb.
The bartender, Micaela, was amazing: honest, super friendly, and very attentive. She even let us preview all of their sauces, and every single one was delicious. The rest of the staff was just as welcoming, especially Sarahi, who delivered our food with a big smile.
Definitely a great place to come, enjoy good food, hang out with friends, and catch a game. We’ll for sure be back.

Great wings. Still love the place but after learning John Young created buffalo wings and not the story on their company page I'm disappointed. You can do like Jack Daniels did with Uncle Nearest and still take credit while acknowledging the history. Still 5 stars because that isn't this location that is corporate.

I’m not a wing girl, but MAN… these are tasty!
Honestly, my fav off the menu? The Caesar’s salad lol my gosh, the lettuce is ALWAYS crispy and the Parmesan cheese, SO fresh! It’s SO good!
My husband is 6’3 and about 350 from Michigan, and if given the option, won’t go anywhere else for wings and a beer.
It’s also so nice to go as a family and they are one of the last places that offers outdoor play areas for children, as well as coloring book options and crayons for kids. So freaking nice, and definitely helps a parent enjoy their meal.

I gave San Antonio a chance, considering how poorly the Schertz location is run, because my office is nearby. I live in the Schertz area and gave that location a chance three times a year ago. The Schertz location is badly managed, and the food is awful.
My husband wanted to try the San Antonio location, so I grinned and bore it, considering what I experienced at the other location in Schertz. The wings in San Antonio were dry and had too much seasoning; the alcoholic beverage was awful—too sweet and not mixed right. Obviously, they need more waitstaff, or management needs to be trained to help their staff. As I observed the atmosphere, it seems like there is a food issue, a kitchen issue, a bartender issue, a management issue, and a staffing issue. With San Antonio being my fourth visit with bad food and overall poor service all around, I’m done with Anchor Bar. They need new management and new kitchen staff. Managers should be helping where issues occur. With both locations poorly run, it seems they need a new system of training.

This is a family favorite. Good food, a fun playground, and good atmosphere. This might make me sound 1000 years old but it's often got music or a TV just a little too loud.
Wings were perfect 👌. We always ask for extra extra crispy and they were. The waitress was not happy to see a group of 6 or maybe she was having a bad day. Other than that food was great, service not so much. 🤷♀️

Here right now. Great food but don’t come for the Texans watch parties, the announcer is ridiculously loud, my ears are ringing. Not sure if all their watch parties are like this. My table can’t hear each other at all, we couldn’t hear the hostess at the front either because he was yelling and they have the volume set to 11.
