3.3 stars. It was packed for a Sunday (but no wait time). The food was ok - not super delicious, but not bland. It was somewhat fast service - and moderately priced. Nice decor - ok cleanliness. I think it's best during the colder weather - hot soups during the summer months are generally not advised.

First time to Bakudan. Overall a very positive experience. Party of 3x (one of our party included someone who studied in Kyoto) on a Thursday evening. About 80% full when we arrived. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere has the interesting Anime/Manga vibe to it, so it was fun to look around. Food portions are generous and all were rated as very good (yes, we agree they lack some of the kick that others have mentioned, our Kyoto member agreed the food was not a flavorful),...
