I am someone who has played at the Gunter quite a bit at 414. Here’s my story.
On September 9, 2023, I played down at 414. The particular night in question, they had one bartender. Don’t know why the normal guys were not there, but there was one bartender the whole night and he was overwhelmed. People had bought me drinks, as well as I ordered a drink from him and never got it. The atmosphere in this historic bar is unlike any other you’ll find in San Antonio. Filled with beautiful natural ornate wood and wrought iron trim, it’ll transport you back in time and you’ll see why this place has developed such a rich history since the hotel was originally built in 1909. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a fine cocktail and some live music right off Houston st in downtown San Antonio right across from all the best theatre venues in town!
