We’ve loved this bar a few times in our week in San Antonio. They have a great happy hour and the views are obviously phenomenal. Our bartender Angel was amazing and makes one of the best ranch waters you’ll ever have (the Bloody Mary was top notch as well)!

Horrible service! Very slow! Waitress could not count back change properly. Lobster bisque was only lukewarm after waiting 40 minutes for it!

We were at the bar, and I felt a lot of disgust and repulsion seeing how the bartender rinsed her hands in the drinks, and to make matters worse, she gave a customer a drink prepared with all the leftover liquids that had spilled onto the bar mat. It was also very disgusting to see her stick the straw into every drink she made in order to taste them. That’s completely unhygienic, and I don’t even believe that’s something they teach in a food preparation course. In this time of so many infections and precautions, we were ignored, and they wouldn’t even take our order. Overall, everything was terrible. Overrated and unsanitary practices—it’s shameful. Hopefully, something can be done about it.
Went for happy hour, wasn't happy to find out it is temporarily(?) not happening. No notice given that we were aware of. Also very limited seating due to work in the restaurant area. I won't go back until it is clear that all is back to normal.

If you are looking for great prime rib this is the place to be. The chef Tony done an outstanding presentation with a great cut. Had to finish this off with one of the best cheese cakes I have had past these lips. Our waiter Preston was absolutely awesome as well.

Our server Beatriz was amazing. Also I took a poo here at 750 feet…it was epic. 10/10 would recommend.
🍸🍹🥂Bar 601 at Tower of the Americas – Drinks with a View!
Address: 739 E César E. Chávez Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78205
Perched high above downtown San Antonio inside the iconic Tower of the Americas, Bar 601 is a hidden gem offering sweeping skyline views and an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by for a cocktail or staying for a full meal, this bar delivers on all fronts.
The tropical cocktail I ordered was not only refreshing but also beautifully crafted—topped with frothy foam, fresh mint, pineapple, and a cherry. It’s the kind of drink that feels like a mini vacation in a glass. Presentation was top-notch, and the flavors were well-balanced and vibrant.
For food, I tried the Fish Tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned blackened fish, generous slices of avocado, and a creamy drizzle wrapped in warm tortillas made this dish a standout. The portion size was satisfying, and the ingredients tasted fresh and thoughtfully paired.
The ambiance at Bar 601 is elevated (literally and figuratively). With a sleek bar setup, attentive service, and a classy vibe, it’s a great place to relax, catch the view, and enjoy a moment above the bustle of the city.
Highly recommend this spot for date nights, special occasions, or anyone visiting the Tower. A drink at Bar 601 is a must-do experience in San Antonio!
🧉🍷🥃🍺🍻🍸🍹🥂🍾 I ❤️ San Antonio.
Preston was a fantastic server. He made the experience amazing 🤩
We loved our experience at 601! The view is obviously the best part but the second best is the service and cocktails! Angel was amazing, and gave us great recommendations of the city! She also made such decadent cocktails! Definitely try to espresso martini soufflé it’s worth it!
Next time we visit San Antonio we will definitely be back!

This was great dining experience. The food was great and the views were beautiful. I loved how their restroom had elegant napkins that were almost to cloth like. We're so planning a date night without kids next time we visit San Antonio
First time at the Tower of the Americas. Wanted to try the happy hour menu because we had a show at 730pm
Every thing we order was delicious and the drinks very nice.
The staff was cordial the only thing is that the elevator that goes down it takes some time to arrive (they wait until several people are waiting in order to call for it, we were in a hurry!!!)
Katie was awesome!
First off—don’t go. This place is a total tourist trap. There’s absolutely nothing else in the area, and you’ll end up paying a $20 cover if you park. Depending on what time you go, expect to wait in a long line just to get to the elevator.
Speaking of the elevator, that’s honestly the best part of the whole experience. The drinks? As of February 20, 2025, happy hour cocktails were $8. I tried the mango mojito—it was just okay. Nothing special. The overall vibe of the place was average at best.
If I had to rate it, I’d give it 2.5 stars—only because of the elevator.
Love it here! Happy hour time has changed so I wanted to post it!
