Brenner's on the River Walk

we ordered 3 times and they didnt have anything, it was embarrassing and i ended up dinning mc and chesse

Went for our honeymoon, what a wonderful time!! The Food was amazing and John C. Was an amazing waiter!!

John C was our waiter and he was by far the best thing here ! Food was amazing as well, but his inviting tone was top tier !!

We made a reservation here for an adults night out. The reservation and seating process was easy and well done. It went downhill from there.

1. We received a drinks menu that was so sticky we ended up putting to the side and just using one between us.

2. My husband asked for a Manhattan as a cocktail before dinner. I requested the sidecar. My drink was excellent, his was almost sour. I thought maybe they had used the same shaker as mine and not washed it out completely. It took 3 times to get the waiters eye, even though we were sitting next to their POS system and he was there quite a bit, he just didn't check on us when he did and the piano was right behind us so it was difficultfor him to hear us to get his attention. I thought maybe it was just us with the drinks problem, but the table in front of ours also had a bourbon drink and I watched the guy take a drink and make a face and put it to the side so they were obviously having problems with something in their bourbon or the bartender wasn't cleaning shakers well . The table in front of us never said anything to the waiter and he was obviously never asked if he liked it because it was there at the end of the night completely full.

3. We ordered 3 courses, appetizer, salad, entree. Table was only set with 2 sets of tableware not 3. No one ever fixed that. When we got to the entree the guy warned me that my plate was hot, dropped my husband's steak and was out. It took us 4 or 5 minutes to find someone to get us flatware so we could eat while everything is cooling off. And then the waiter we flagged down just gave us an entire set up instead of just the fork and knife that was literallyon a tray next to it. Also, the glass of wine we asked for with the entree showed up when we were 1/2 done meaningit probably would have shown up after dinner if we hadn't had to wait for flatware.

The food was good. The service was not great. For this price you should get both, I would go somewhere else for a nicer experience.

Our server had at least 5 tables that I counted and none of them next to each other. It thought at first the service was off because they were a person down. As a former restaurant employee I would have let the service slip go except for the expo not looking for flatware and the really late wine and poorly made drinks.
That is just poor training. Which between the hostess with the sticky menu, server with lack of follow up, expo not looking for flatware, and poorly made drinks this seems to be a restaurant problem not just a one off one person problem.

Espresso martini was divine
The bacon wrapped shrimp, straight up fire
Oysters were good. Lobster crab roll was a little bland

Absolutely phenomenal food, service at the bar was outstanding! I will say, some guests need to just let servers and bartenders do their thing. I witnessed a man tonight who was seated at an outdoor table essentially micro managing the bartenders, and taking away from the wait staff. Uncalled for sir! Have the night you deserve

Probably the very best Wedge salad I have ever had. My NY strip was cooked to perfection. Many steakhouses seem to have trouble with medium rare over cooking just a bit. I always assumed that they did this because many people order medium rare but don’t really want it that rare and send it back. Mine was incredible. William was my server and he was fantastic. He was very attentive without being a helicopter server. Malcom the manager is worth his weight. He runs a tight ship.

Very bad first impression, I arrived with my family and we sat near the river, we just went, we were walking along the river and it seemed like a good place but we didn't know we needed a reservation, they asked us to sit somewhere else, we agreed and ordered 3 drinks (we just wanted to have something), then the waiter very rudely told us that the menu was very expensive and that if we were just going to have something we had to sit inside the restaurant (when we arrived no one had explained this to us). I understand that each business has its policies, but the bad time we had cannot be justified with anything.

Nice atmosphere, very good service... but mixed meal.

My husband and I usually go to Bohanan’s, but after reading the great reviews, we decided to go to Brenner’s. Despite the great reviews, this was one of the most disappointing restaurants we’ve ever been to. The service was great, but the steak was under seasoned and of lower quality compared to Bohanan’s. My husband ordered the aged bone-in ribeye. The ribeye was very gamey tasting and it smelled like it was spoiled. The cesear salad was saturated with dressing. We found it quite odd to be charged for bread. I understand that everyone has different taste and expectations, but I would never recommend Brenners to anyone…totally disappointing experience.
